Bhagini Nivedita College was incorporated in the year 1993 as a constituent college of University of Delhi. The college was established by the then Delhi Administration as a women’s college. The college is fully funded and supported by the Government of Delhi. The college is named after Sister Nivedita. Sister Nivedita is best known as the disciple of Swami Vevekanand, who dedicated all her life for the upliftment of women and also improving the education facilities for the women. The campus of the collge is located at Najafgarh in Delhi. The college now provides various courses to its student but initially the college was started with only two courses, B.A.(Pass) and B.A.(Hons).
