North Eastern Indira Gandhi Regional Institute of Health & Medical Sciences was established in the year 1987 as a autonomous institute by the Ministy of Health and Family Welfare. The institute actually comes under the Government of India. The institute was established under the Meghalaya Registration of Societies Act, 1983. The institute is dedicated to the memory of Late Indira Gandhi who was the former Prime Minister of India. The institute is renowned or famous for being the first and the only post graduate medical institute in the North Eastern Region. The institute works on its aim of welfare of the people of North Eastern Region.

Job Profile:

Eligible candidates are invited to apply for the posts of Senior Resident Doctors and Junior Resident Doctors in North Eastern Indira Gandhi Regional Institute of Health & Medical Sciences. Candidates selected on the post of Senior Resident Doctors will be recruited for a period of three years tenture while candidates selected on the post of Junior Resident Doctor will be recruited for a period of one year only.

Eligibility:

Age limit for the post of Senior Resident Doctors is 33 years.
Age limit for the post of Junior Resident Doctors is 30 years.

Reservation for the above post and age relaxation will be provided as per Government of India norms. Age is relaxable upto 5 years for SC/St candidates and only 3 years for OBC candidates.

Educational Qualification:

Senior Resident octors: Post Graduate degree or Diploma in respective subject recognized by MCI after obtaining medical qualification in respective field. Also candidates must be registered with the State Medical Council/Medical Council of India.

Junior Resident octors: Medical Qualification in respective subject recognized by MCI in respective field. Also candidates must be registered with the State Medical Council/Central Medical Council.

Candidates having experience in the respective discipline or subject will be preferred.

Senior Resident Doctors: 29 posts
Junior Resident Doctors: 55 posts

Pay Scale:

Senior Resident Doctors: Rs. 18750 + Grade Pay of Rs. 6600 + NPA plus other allowances as admissible under rules.
Junior Resident Doctors: Rs. 15600 + Grade Pay of Rs. 5400 + NPA plus other allowances as admissible under rules.

Selection Process:

Eligible candidates will be called for the personal interview test on 28 January 2011. Candidates who does not fulfill any one of the above conditions, will not be allowed to appear in the interview. Candidates must ensure that they fulfill the eligibility criterias before coming to the Walk-in-interview.

How to apply: Interested candidates are requested to present themselves for registration on 28 January 2011. The time of interview is between 9 AM to 10:30 AM only.
