Sri Venkateswara University is one among the old Universities of the nation. The university was established in the year 1954 and is located in Tirupati. The university offers around seventy post graduate degree, doctoral, post graduate diploma, and certificate and diploma courses for the aspirants. An aspirant can join the university at any level of his/her education. The university conducts a combined entrance exam for admitting candidates for various post graduate courses. The students who pass the exam will be admitted in the university. The details of the M.Sc. Botany entrance test are briefly explained below.

Structure of Sri Venkateswara University M.Sc. Botany Entrance Tests (SVURPGCET)

The entrance exam consists of 100 multiple choice questions. The duration of the test is 90 minutes. Negative marking is not there.

Syllabus of Sri Venkateswara University M.Sc. Botany Entrance Tests (SVURPGCET)

Section A : Diversity of Microbes and Cryptogams

Section B : Gymnosperms, Diversity structure and Development of flowering plants and Ecology

Section C : Taxonomy, Palynology, Embryology and utilization of plants, Physiology, Cell Biology, Genetics & Biotechnology

Eligibility Criteria

All aspirants who are having a bachelor’s degree in Botany with a minimum aggregate of 40% are eligible to write the Sri Venkateswara University M.Sc. Botany Entrance Tests (SVURPGCET). Candidates who are appearing for the final exam are also eligible for the test.

How to apply?

The application forms will be available from any of the post offices and banks mentioned in the brochure of the University. Duly filled in supplication along with a demand draft of Rs. 350/- should be addressed to The Convener, SVURPGCET-2011, Directorate of Admissions, S.V. University, Tirupati-517 502 on or before the last date of application, or within 5 days after the last date with a fine of Rs.500/-. The application form must also contain xerox copies of Date of birth extract / SSC, Evidence for claims of reservation under Caste/PH/NCC/NSS/Games & Sports/CAP and Marks statement of first or second year of qualifying examination.
