Punjab Pollution Control Board was formed in the year 1975 in the state of Punjab. The board was formed vide Punjab Government Notification No. 6186-BR II (4) 75/24146. The board was constituted after the enactment of Water (Prevention & Control of Pollution) act, 1974. The board is mainly responsible for the implementation of environmental laws in the state of Punjab. Minimizing the pollution control requirements by judicious location of new industries is one of the major objective of the board. Educating and guiding the entrepreneurs in improving environment is an important function of the board.

Job Profile:

Eligible candidates are invited to apply for the folloing vacant positions of Steno-Typist, Clerk (Accounts) and Clerk cum Data Entry Operator in Punjab Pollution Control Board. Candidates must meet with all the eligibility codnictions, for applying for the desired position.

1. Recruitment of Steno-Typist:
No. of posts: Only 4 posts are available.
Educational Qualification: Matriculation with atleast 60% marks in aggregate is the minimum educational qualification required for the post. Candidates should also have done a computer course of six months duration from a reputed institute.
Pay Scale: Rs. 5910-20200 with a Grade Pay of Rs. 2000.

2. Recruitment of Clerk (Accounts):
No. of posts: Only 4 posts are available.
Educational Qualification: Bachelor’s degree in Commerce with atleast 50% marks in aggregate is the minimum educational qualification required for the post. Candidates should also have atleast 2 years of working experience on computer.
Pay Scale: Rs. 5910-20200 with a Grade Pay of Rs. 1900.

3. Recruitment of Clerk cum Data Entry Operator:
No. of posts: Only 11 posts are available.
Educational Qualification: Matriculation with atleast 60% marks in aggregate is the minimum educational qualification required for the post. Candidates should also have done a computer course of six months duration from a reputed institute.
Pay Scale: Rs. 5910-20200 with a Grade Pay of Rs. 1900.

Age Limit

Candidates must have age more than 18 years and also less than 37 years as on 18 July 2011. Candidates not fulfilling this age criteria should not apply for any of the above specified post as their applications will be summarily rejected by the Punjab Pollution Control Board.

Application Fee

An application fee of Rs. 400 is need to be submitted by the General and OBC categories candidates. Rs. 100 is the amount of application fee need to be submitted by SC/ST categories candidates. Candidates should submit or deposit the application fee in the CDAC Mohali. The application fee should be deposited in the account number 3529002100253664 with any branch of Punjab National Bank.

Selection Process

The recruitment of eligible candidates will be strictly made on the basis of the merit secured by them in the written test. Candidates will also have to appear in Punjabi and English shorthand test for the post of Stenotypist. Candidates will also have to appear in Punjabi and English typing test on computer for the post of Clerk cum Data Entry Operator.
