Rajasthan Public Service Commission was established through an ordinance promulgated in the year 1949 on the 16th of August. The commission began its journey with two members and a chairman. It is functioning according to the provisions of the Rajasthan Public Service Commission Terms of Service Rules, 1951 and Rajasthan Public Service Commission limit of work rules 1951.

Eligibility Requirement:

Educational Qualification: The educational qualification requirement for the position of Stenographers in State Secretariat is as follows:

• Candidates must have completed their senior secondary examination from a recognized board or equivalent qualification and

• They must have obtained ‘O’ level or equivalent course from DOEACC under the control of the electronics department of Government of India (or)

• Certificate course in Data Preparation and Computer Software/Computer Operator & Programming Assistant organized under state/national council of vocational training scheme (or)

• Diploma in computer applications/computer science from an university established by law in India or from a institution recognized by the government (or)

• Diploma in computer science & engineering from a polytechnic institution approved by law.

Age: The minimum age requirement is 18 years and maximum age requirement is 35 years as on the 1st of January 2012.

The cost of application is Rs.250 for general category candidates, Rs.150 for OBC candidates from non-creamy layer and Rs.50 for SC/ST candidates
