Sub Inspector (Overseer), Indo-Tibetan Border Police Force




Indo-Tibetan Border Police has been shielding us since 1962. It has been protecting our borders and our country against our enemies or any other illegal activity and also restores the peace of an area in case of any disturbance. It is currently covering an area of 3500 Kms. It is respected and saluted for its commendable work.

Job profile: The sub inspectors will be required to work in the civil department like construction etc. They will also be required to supervise the work of their juniors and laborers. They will be required to support their seniors in execution of various activities.

Eligibility: A candidate must be between the age of 20 and 25 years. However, relaxation can be claimed as per the rules. A candidate must have minimum of 170 cms height and 80 cms of unexpanded chest and 85 cms of expanded chest (relaxation will also be given) and also a proportionate weight.

Educational Qualifications: A candidate must have completed a three years diploma in Civil Engineering after matric level or an equivalent from a recognized institute or a university.

No. of posts: There are 61 posts in total which include 34 for UR, 7 for SC, 2 for ST and 18 for OBC candidates.

Pay scale: The sub inspectors will be given a pay scale of Rs9300-34800 plus a grade pay of Rs4200 plus other allowances such as LTC, HRA or accommodation, washing allowance, ration etc.

Selection process: The candidates will have to undergo the physical measurement and physical efficiency test followed by a written test and an interview and finally a detailed medical test.

How to apply: The candidates are required to apply as per the format given in the advertisement. The candidates are required to pay a fee of Rs50 in the form of a DD drawn in the favor of the Accounts Officers, Directorate General, ITB Police payable at New Delhi. All the applications along with the copies of supporting documents must reach Deputy Inspector General (ENGR), Directorate General, Indo Tibetan Border Police, Block 2, CGO Complex, Lodhi Road, New Delhi-110003

The last date for the receipt of applications is 20th October 2009.
