Swahid Jadav Nath Government Homeopathic Medical College came into existence in the year 1976. The college is also called as SJN Government Homeopathic Medical College. The college was established by the Government of Assam.

The college is affiliated to the Guwahati University. The college offers excellent undergraduate level course in the field of homoeopathy. The college provides the education in homeopathy through sufficient basic facilities as well as qualified and experienced teachers. The Swahid Jadav Nath Government Homeopathic Medical College offers the undergraduate course in the field of homoeopathy.

The undergraduate course available in the college is BHMS (Bachelor of Homeopathic Medicine and Surgery). The duration of the course is 5 1/2 years including 1 year compulsory Internship.

Eligibility criteria for getting admission:

The candidates, who have passed 10+2 or higher secondary examination (in Physics, Chemistry and Biology subjects) with at least 50 % marks, are eligible to apply for the BHMS course. They must get qualified in the All India Homeopathy Entrance Test (HOMPET), in order to get admission for the BHMS course in the college.
