Master of dental surgery is the specialization in dentistry and it is a proof of excellence of a candidate. The degree enables a candidate to specialize in taking care of mouth and teeth and its roots. Endodontics is a branch of dentistry which deals with the roots of the teeth.

Paper Pattern:

The question paper of Endodontia is a conceptual paper; questions asked are both objective and subjective. The objective section consists of 20 questions and each question is of equal marks.  Answers are to be given in one word or one sentence. Subjective section contains 4 questions of equal marks and answers are to be given in suitable lengths. There is no alternative in the subjective section. The paper contains subjective questions on theoretical as well as diagram based questions. Each question in the subjective section contains sub-questions in it.

Questions asked in this paper are generally of descriptive type. The paper repeats its question every year. The questions based on diagram are also asked every year. One long question is on short notes such as definition of Endodontia, oral dam, anatomy and development of teeth, questions on different teeth problems and its cure etc., is asked in this paper.  The paper also contains questions on root canal.

Total marks and time allotted:

Maximum marks which can be awarded in this paper are 100 and time allotted is 3 hours. Objective section is of 20 marks and it has to be submitted within 20 minutes and subjective section is of 80 marks and it should be completed within 2 hours and 40 minutes.
