Subordinate Services Commission was re-designated as Staff Selection Commission (SSC) on 26th September, 1977. Making recruitment to Group C and Group B posts in departments of Government of India is the main responsibility of SSC. Nine regional/sub-regional offices located at different states of India consitutes the network of Staff Selection Commission. A Chairmen assisted by two members and a secretary or controller of Examination, heads the commission.

Job Profile:

1. Recruitment of Transmission Executive (G&P):
No. of posts: Only 10 posts are available.
Age Limit: Candidates must be in between 18 to 30 years of age.
Pay Scale: Rs. 9300-34800 + Grade Pay of Rs. 4200.

2. Recruitment of Library & Information Assistant:
No. of posts: Only 2 posts are available.
Age Limit: Candidates should not be more than 28 years of age.
Pay Scale: Rs. 9300-34800 + Grade Pay of Rs. 4200.

3. Recruitment of Storekeeper:
No. of posts: Only 6 posts are available.
Age Limit: Candidates should not be more than 27 years of age.
Pay Scale: Rs. 5200-19200 + Grade Pay of Rs. 1900.

4. Recruitment of Scientific Assistant:
No. of posts: Only 1 post is available.
Age Limit: Candidates should not be more than 30 years of age.
Pay Scale: Rs. 9300-34800 + Grade Pay of Rs. 4200.
