The Employees’ State Insurance Scheme was introduced by the ESIC in the state of Gujarat on the 14th of October 1964 and later the scheme was made applicable to the city of Ahmedabad and its suburban in the first phase and was then extended to the most of the industrialized centres like Ankleshwar, Jamnagar, Rajkot, Surat and Baroda. At present, the scheme stands implemented in 40 centres in the state.

Recruitment by ESIC, Gujarat:

ESIC, Gujarat calls for applications from eligible candidates for the position of UGC and here are the details regarding the notification issued in this regard:

Name of the Vacancy: Upper Division Clerk

Number of Vacancies: Total number of vacancies is 111, which is divided among the different category of people as follows:

UR – 59

OBC – 29

SC – 16

ST - 07

Out of these 111 vacancies, 11 vacancies are reserved for EXS and four vacancies are reserved for PH Candidates with two for HH category and two for OH Category.

Pay scale: Scale of Pay, which includes allowances according to rules for the position of Upper Division Clerk will be Rs.5200-20200+GP of Rs.2400.

Eligibility requirements:

Education: To apply for the position of Upper Division Clerk, candidates must be degree holders from the recognized university and they should have working knowledge of computers inclusive of use of database and office suites.

Age: Candidates, to apply for the position of UDC, should be between the age group of 18 to 27 years as on the 31st of January 2012, which is relaxable for ESIC employees and government servants as 40 years. For other reserved category candidates, the relaxation of upper age limit will be five years for SC/ST, 10 years for persons with disability, three years for OBC candidates and three years plus service rendered in armed forces for EXS candidates.

Mode of Selection:

Candidates will be selected for the position of UGC, strictly according to the merit in written examination, which will be conducted in two parts being Part I for Written Test and part II for computer skill test. The probable date of written test for the position of Upper Division Clerk is 01st of April 2012 and computer skill test is 17th of June 2012. However, candidates can log on to www.esicgujarat.org for finding out the actual date of examinations.

Application fee:

Application fee to be paid by general category candidates alone is Rs. 225 and this fee should be deposited in any branches of Union Bank of India to Account Number 422301010037579, through challan form that can be downloaded from the website of ESIC, Gujarat. Fee can also be paid in the form of DD/Banker’s cheque drawn in favor of Regional Director, ESIC corporation, Ahmedabad drawn in a nationalized banks payable at Ahmedabad.

How to apply:

After payment of fee candidates will have to register online before 31st of January 2012 and after successful registration, print out of the application along with unique registration Number should be appended with signature and left hand thumb impression of the candidates and DD or challan for payment of fee should be sent to the address given below through speed or registered post to the address given below before 07th of February 2012:
