VTM NSS College was established as Junior college in the year 1964 on the 15th of July in a temporary building. Later in the year 1967, the college began to offer degree courses in different subjects. It gradually extended its hand to different courses of study and the college is presently affiliated to the University of Kerala

VTM NSS College is situated on the top of the hill at Dhanuvachapuram and it is coming under the purview of Nyyattinkara Taluk and Kollayil Village. The college is located in the southern part of the state of Kerala about 25 km away from the central railway station of Thiruvananthapuram.

Salient features of the college:

The National Assessment & Accreditation Council has awarded the college with B+ status and an Internal Quality Assurance Cell is functioning under the college with the guidelines of NAAC for the co-ordination of post-accreditation quality sustenance activities.

Placement & Career Guidance Cell:

A placement and employment guidance cell is functioning in the college from the academic year 2006-07 to offer guidance to the graduates coming out of the college to find a perfect career.
