The combined efforts of the Government of Orissa and the Orissa Jesuit Society gave rise to this prestigious Institution in the year 1987. A recognized Institute under the All India Institute for Technical Education, the Xavier Institute’s prowess in offering great knowledge in the Management education field is renowned. The Institute is acclaimed for its superb infrastructure facilities, placement drives and innovative education methods.

The Xavier Institute of Management (XIMB) takes in only 5 students a year from among thousands who have proved their worth in a very competitive environment. The admission is for a research program called FPM short for Fellow Programme in Management, which is known to have a successful history.

Structure and Syllabus for XIMB-RAT

The XIMB-RAT will be for 50 marks. It will be 2 hours long with 4 divisions.

First Division – The candidates will have to face questions about themselves which will be 30 minutes long and for an award of 5 marks.

Second division – The candidates will have to write a summary for a passage and a composition on a given topic. It will be 40 minutes long for 15 marks in total.

Third division – The candidates will have to face questions that would estimate their reasoning prowess. It will be for 20 marks and will take 20 minutes.

Fourth division – For 20 marks, the candidates will face questions that would estimate their logical interpretation and quantitative skill prowess. It is of 30 minutes duration.

Eligibility Criteria

Candidates seeking admission for the programme are to be qualified individuals in CAT, XAT or UGC NET exams. For those whom who prefer alternatives for the aforementioned exams, may attend the XIMB Research Aptitude Test to showcase their skills and gain an admission for the FPM.

Post graduate professionals in any management related discipline or graduate engineers with minimum work experience of 2 years are considered eligible to attend the XIMB-RAT. Both the above mentioned categories should have minimum 55% aggregate in their PG or Graduate level Board exams. The Institute also considers candidates with exceptionally good academic performances and abundant experience in Management. If the candidates PG or Graduate degree marks are represented in the letter grade system, the eligibility would be for candidates with a 4.8 or 6 on a point scale of 8 and 10 respectively.

How to Apply?

No other alternatives for applying for the XIMB RAT except online application. For this they have to visit www.ximb.ac.in . The application form will be available here. Fill up the application form appropriately and then go to the next step of downloading the Payment advice form. After the download, take a print out of the same form and mail it to the following address along with the application fee which cannot be refunded:

The payment can be made via State Bank of India core branch as a deposit of Rs 1000/- in the account No. 30834687536 of the XIMB. The remittance slip will be available after which is to be sent along with the form.

Another alternative is to send an Rs 1000/- Demand draft in favor of the XIMB. The acknowledgement mail would reach the applicant soon after payment and submission.

How to fill the Form?

Filling up an online form is just the same as filling a paper form. The common aspect is intense care should be practiced while filling them. The candidates are advised to take their time filling each entry fields precisely. The candidates might make mistakes. So check each and every entry after it’s entered and upon completion of filling up the form, the candidates are recommended to check the whole application form once more and rectify mistakes, if any. Once submitted, no requests to make changes, even minor ones, will be accepted. Equal care and caution should be there while filling the Payment advice form as well. All entries should be valid and the contact address of the applicant should be precise.
