A.C. College of Engineering and Technology, Karaikudi
The A.C. College of Engineering and Technology is in Karaikudi in Tamil Nadu. The first two letter A and C stands for Alagappa and Chettiar. The college is affliated to the Anna University. The institute is approved by the All India Council of Technical Education. The college was established in the year 1952. It is run by the Government of Tamil Nadu and is a Co-Educational institution.
Campus
The campus of the college is spread over a huge area and is very well maintained. The library of the college has more than 30000 volumes of books and also there is additional journals of both national and international taste and also magazines and other details. The campus has workshops and laboratories.
Courses Offered
The Institute offers both part time and full time courses. In the Under graduate level it offers Bachelor of Engineering in the field of Civil Engineering, Computer Science Engineering, Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering and Mechanical Engineering. In the Post Graduate level it offers Masters in Applied Electronics, Computer Aided Design, Environmental Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Optical Communication, Power Electronics and Drives and Structural Engineering.
Admission Procedure
The admission to the college is based on the merit obtained in the states entrance examination for admission to the various engineering colleges of the state .
Placements
The college has a very good placement record. There are companies like the Infosys, TCS, Wipro Technologies and many other state based local companies and other in the software field that recruit students. Also there are core mechanical and electronics companies that visit the campus and hire the students.
