Bihar State Electricity Board shortly called as BSEB was constituted under section 5 of the Electricity Supply Act 1948 by the Government of Bihar. The board was conferred with the responsibility of promotion of coordinated development of distribution, transmission and generation of electricity in the state of Bihar in an economic and efficient manner.

Bihar State Electricity Board is planning to recruit candidates for the position of Assistant Electrical Engineer in Electrical and Electronics, here are the details regarding the notification issued by the Board in this regard:

Name of the Vacancy: Assistant Electrical Engineer-General Cadre (Electrical and Electronics)

Number of Vacancies: Total number of vacancies is 105, which is divided among the two departments as follows

• Assistant Electrical Engineer (Electrical) – 95 (Post Code: A1)

• Assistant Electrical Engineer (Electronics) – 10 (Post Code: A2)

Pay Scale: Candidates appointed for the position of Assistant Electrical Engineer in Bihar State Electricity Board will be coming under the pay scale of Rs.15600-39100 plus Grade pay of Rs.5500.

Eligibility requirements:

Qualification for Electrical discipline: Candidates must be electrical/electrical & electronics engineering degree holders from an institution recognized by the Government.

Qualification for Electronics discipline: Candidates must be Electronics/Electronics & Communication/Electronics & Instrumentation/Electronics & Telecommunication engineering degree holders from an institution recognized by the Government.

For both discipline, candidates belonging to UR category must have secured not less than 65% of marks in the final year examination and required percentage is 50% for SC/ST candidates and 60% for BC/EBC candidates.

Age: To apply for the position of Assistant Electrical Engineer, candidates must be between the age group of 21 and 37 years of age. Upper age limit is relaxable by 5 years for SC/ST candidates, three year for EBC/BC and female candidates.

Selection Procedure:

Selection of candidates will be based on their performance in the written test, which will be conducted for a duration of two hours and maximum 100 marks.

Cost of application:

Application fee is Rs.1000 for general category candidates and Rs.250 for SC/ST candidates belonging to the state of Bihar, Rs.400 for the current regular/contract employees of BSEB and in case the employees belong to SC/ST category the cost of application for them is Rs.100. The fee should be deposited to the current account of BSEB to 31963202219 in any State Bank of India by filling challan form in triplicate that can be obtained from http://bseb.bih.nic.in/
