The Tamil Nadu Open University (TNOU) was started by an Act of the Legislative Assembly of the Tamil Nadu Government. This was established to help those who do not have the facility to go for higher education. The university provides several programmes in different streams.

Course Details

The candidates should complete 12th from a recognized board so as to be eligible for this course. TNOU also gives opportunity to their BPP passed candidates to take up this course. There is no minimum age bar for the students of the 10+2 candidates whereas for the others it is 18 years.

The minimum duration of BCA from TNOU is 3 years, which may possibly stretch up to a maximum of 8 years. The candidates have to pay a course fee of Rs. 9000/- per annum.

The candidates can obtain the application form and the prospectus from the study centres of TNOU. The student has to pay Rs. 100/- to purchase the application. The Tamil Nadu Open University often conducts the contact classes in NSIC, CIPET, MIFT, etc.
