The Calicut University is located in the southern state of Kerala in India. It offers several courses and one of its famous courses is the B.Tech one. In this era coding and encrypting of information is necessary for all engineers and hence Information Theory and Coding paper is an important paper of the Electronics and Communication Engineering course. Keeping in mind its practical application this subject should be prepared very well.
Maximum marks and allotted time:
The total marks for this paper is 100 and the students are allotted 3 hours to complete this exam.
Analysis of the exam pattern:
The paper is divided into two parts. Part A has 8 questions of 5 marks each and all of them are compulsory and hence have to be answered. Part B has 4 questions of 15 marks each and all of them have to be answered as well. However in this section internal options for each of the questions are present. Further, the questions in this section are broken into several short questions of 5, 7, 8, 9 or 10 marks. Since the paper has a lot of problem question, so a bit of practice helps in doing well in this paper.
