Production technology paper is the study of calculation and determination of working with a machine to determine the efficiency of that machine. Working in the environment of international standard of machines and equipment, candidates are able to understand the metallurgical industry and its applications. Paper is an integral part of mechanical engineering as it has a vast area of application.

Importance of paper:

Paper of Production technology is helpful in learning the facts and applications of different machines, working with different types of circuits, applications, valves and their different working criteria, study of different equipment which are necessary to be used in production. Areas of production technology are very important as lots of jobs opportunities are there as manufacturing industry is a vast field to work.

Paper pattern:

Paper of Production technology consists of 10 questions in it and only 5 from it are necessary to be attempted. Questions asked are of equal marks and each question is divided into 2-4 sub-questions. Questions asked are mainly of short notes and numerical type.

Frequently asked questions:

Questions which are asked in the paper are such as calculating the machining time, deals with metallurgical applications, working of different valves accumulators and unloading valve, ultrasonic machining, infiltration, sequence valve, machine timing, types of lathe, applications of lathe, requirements of manufacturing process etc.

Time and marks:

Total time which can be given to the candidates to solve the paper is 3 hours only and maximum marks to be secured in this time are 100.
