The University of Cochin is a reputed University of engineering. The educational standard is very high in the University. The department of ECE is in demand since last decade as it providing the no. of jobs to the candidates. Many organisation required students of this stream.

Paper Pattern:

The subject of digital signal Processing is a technical paper and contains numerical and subjective in the ratio of 1:1. Total no. of questions in the paper is 5 and each question is with their own internal alternative. All questions are of long answer type and there are no sub-questions in any of the question. Questions are of a simple pattern and questions from previous year’s paper get repeated. The paper contains questions which demands diagram in it. Numerical questions are required to be solved with proper circuit diagram. Assumption of data could be made if required in a problem.

Frequently asked questions:

The paper contains questions which are of numerical type mostly but some questions are with theoretical problem and theorems. Questions asked are such as Review of Discrete Fourier series and Discrete Time Fourier Transform, Structures for realization of discrete time systems, Design of different types of Digital filters, Computer Architectures for signal processing, emplace computation, advantages of FIR filters, dead band, replication etc. Questions of numerical type are asked from all the 4 modules.

Total marks and time allotted:

The paper is of 100 marks and time is 3 hours of the paper. Each question in this paper is of 20 marks. All questions are required to be solved with help of proper steps and diagram to get the maximum marks.
