Asansol Engineering College offers graduate as well as post graduate level courses in various disciplines such as Mechanical Engineering, Communication & Electrical Engineering and Computer Application. Admission to the courses is carried out on the basis of entrance exams such as WBJEE/ AIEEE/ ISEET/ JELET. The college conducts its own entrance for the admission to M.Tech courses.

Admission Procedure

Admission Procedure of Under Graduate Courses - Candidates who have completed higher secondary course from a recognized board of education are eligible to apply for Bachelor of Technology Courses. They should have studied Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry in HSC. Candidates are required to secure a minimum of 50 % marks in aggregate in above said subjects. Admission to the course is carried out on the basis of national level entrance exams such as West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination (WBJEE) and All India Engineering Entrance Examination (AIEEE) or ISEET exam. Final selection will be based on the scores obtained in entrance exam and performance in counseling conducted by the Institute.

Diploma holders in Technology/ Engineering/ Pharmacy from any of the institutes recognized by AICTE or from polytechnics are eligible to seek admission to B.Tech courses through lateral entry. Graduates in science subjects who have secured 50 % marks and studied Mathematics as a subject in Higher Secondary Course are also eligible to apply through lateral entry. Admission to such candidates is carried out on the basis of entrance exam JELET, conducted by West Bengal Joint Entrance Examinations Board. Final Selection is based on merit list prepared after the  entrance exam and personal interview conducted by the college.

Higher secondary education is the minimum educational qualification required for BBA as well as BCA courses. Those who are seeking admission to BCA should have studied Statistics Mathematics / Business Mathematics/ Computer Application in HSC. Admission to the courses is based on the Common Entrance Exam (CET) conducted by the institution.

Admission Procedure of Post Graduate Courses - Candidates who have completed graduation in Engineering or Master of Science in relevant subjects can seek admission to M.Tech courses in respective subjects. Final year candidates are also eligible to apply. Selection procedure contains an entrance exam and personal interview conducted by the College.

Graduates in any discipline can apply for MCA programme. They should have studied Mathematics or Statistics as one subject in Higher Secondary Course or in Graduation. Admission to the course is carried out on the basis of screening test, JECA conducted by West Bengal Joint Entrance Examinations Board.
