Is it tough to join Indian Army for female candidates?
Hello Sir, I am a female student and I have given my Board exam of 10th standard. I want to join Indian Army. So, I want to know that as I am a female student so it is tough for me to join India Army? Please let me know about this immediately.

You will become eligible to join Indian Army after bachelor degree.
Candidates have to qualify in both stages of CDS examination for final selection. After selection you will be recriited as an officer. So, you need tp have the requied minimum qualification to appear for examination |

Sorry, to say that female candidates are not eligible to join Indian Army as per UPSC guidelines. Only unmarried male candidates who have passed 12th standard or an equivalent examination from a recognised board are eligible to apply for NDA examination for joining in Indian Army. So, being a female candidate, you are not eligible to apply for NDA examination for joining in Indian Army.

Women officers are inducted in the Indian Army through the Short Service Commission scheme.
Under this scheme, the female candidates aspiring to be a part of Indian Army must appear for Combined Defence Services examination. The CDS exam is conducted twice a year in the month of July and November bye UPSC. Undergraduate females in appear in this test. |

Girl can appear for CDS examination in order to join Indian Army. This examination is conducted by UPSC.
Graduates can appear in CDS examination. As right now there is no procedure for girls or female candidates to join the armed forces after 12th. |

You can join Indian Army after graduation by three ways.
1) UPSC Entry 2) Non-UPSC Entry 3) Technical Entry 1) UPSC Eligibility - You must be unmarried graduate. - Age : 19 to 25 years. Selection You need to clear entrance exam CDSE. Successful candidates will be short listed for SSB interview. 12 women are selected on merit basis after every six months for beginning training. 2) Non-UPSC There are 2 types of entries in Non-UPSC. (1) NCC Special Entry (2) JAG Entry NCC Special Entry Eligibility - You must be an unmarried graduate having NCC 'C' certificate. - Age - 19 to 25 years. Selection Shortlisted candidates will be called for SSB interview. 4 women is selected on merit basis after every six months for beginning training. JAG (Judge Advocate General) Entry Eligibility - You must be an unmarried LLB graduate with at least 55% in LLB from a recognized university. - Age : 21 to 27 years. Selection Shortlisted candidates will be called for SSB interview. After every six months, 4 women are selected on merit basis for beginning training. 3) Technical Entry Eligibility - You must be an unmarried engineering graduate. - Age : 20 to 27 years. Selection Shortlisted candidates will be called for SSB interview. 20 women are selected after every six months for beginning training. |
