Hello,

IPS is a very prestigious job in the country.
I am not sure what is your height in cms.
The cut off height for IPS is 165 cm. Minimum you should be 165 cm.
I don't think your height is 165 cm. The equivalent is 5'5 inch.
Try to increase 1 inch at least

You have to qualify your graduation examination...
There is no particular percent limit...
you have to complete your graduation,then you are eligible for the exam...
But start studying from now onwards.....

but for the eligibility of appearing in ips exam.
the b.tech percentage is not included

the person who have completed the graduation from the recognized indian university with the age between 21 to 30 years is allowed to give the ips exam.

there is the relaxation for the obc candidates in the age limit for 3 years more than the upper age limit.and 5 years for the candidates belongs to category sc or st.

you can attempt the ips exam at the final year of the graduation.

165 cm=5.4133858 ft.(GENERAL)
160cm=5.2493438(ST)

If you are in ST candidate ,then eligible.

For an IPS OFFICER the age factor is the candidate must maintain the height of minimum 165 cm.
Your height is 5'4'' which means 162.5 cm.

So sorry friend you are not eligible for IPS officer.

sorry to say that, but you are not eligible as a general candidate, but i you lies in SC\ST category then you can apply for this civil service examination.

as the minimum height required for IPS is 165 cm i.e. 5.4133858 foot (for a general candidate), but these is 5 cm of height relaxation is applicable for SC\ST candidates.
i.e.160cm ----5.2493438 foot.

hence if you area SC\ST candidate then you can apply for this exam.

IPS stands for the Indian Police Service and it is conducted by the UPSC, to select higher Police officials.

So since it is a Police job, there are certain physical requirements also which needs to be fulfilled by the applicants and aspirants.

The minimum height required is 165 cms which is 5 feet 4 inches. So if you are this tall, you may apply.

IPS- INDIAN POLICE SERVICE, to become an IPS officer one has to apear and crack Civil Service Exam conducted by UPSC once every year.

The candidate must be an Indian National having either appear for the final Graduation Degree exam or pass in any stream of education from a recognised University within the age of 21 to 30 years of age which the upper age relaxed up to 5 years for SC/ST candidate and up to 3 years for OBC candidate.

There is certain physical fitness test to be overcome by those applying for IPS.

The Height should be minimum 165cm for male and 150cm for female General category candidate and for SC/ST/OBC Height should be no less then 160cm for male and 145cm for female candidate.

Chest should be 84cm for male and that to 79cm for female candidate.

The selection is through three phases:-

Actually i want to write UPSC exam for IPS.
