dear friend, followings are the criteria of selection in BITS exam...


The candidate should have secured an aggregate of 80% of marks in physics, chemistry and mathematics or the candidate should have scored a minimum mark of 60% each in physics, chemistry and mathematics.


In this context of minimum marks, it should be remembered that only the marks of second year of higher secondary education (i.e.) +2 or second year of intermediate college will be taken into consideration and the first year marks or +1 marks will not be taken into account.


In calculating the minimum marks the laboratory exam mark should also be added up to the marks obtained by the candidate in the theoretical examination of physics and chemistry.

Minimum 80% marks in 12th is required to clear BITS exam.

it is nothing but the eligibility criteria to get in to the BITS exam.

as well as very good rank in AIEEE is required to get admission in BITS.

BITS is the exam taken by BIRLA INSTITUTE OF TECHNOLOGY,PILANI for admission in its three colleges placed in PILANI,HYDERABAD AND GOA......YOU CAN ALSO get admission in BITS,DUBAI................

EVERY year the cut off marks.......last year the minimum marks was 255.......however if you want to take admission in good branch you need to score above 300 in 450 marks........

the exam is not difficult.......it is taken online........you also need to give one english paper apart from physics,chemistry and maths.......its very reputed college(deemed university) in INDIA and it is also compared to several IIT'S.......

For getting admission into BITs pilani ..

you have to clear the exam called BITSAT

as the previous applicant of BITSAT

i can share some views in this regard

you should score good marks in those 3 odd hours ..

so be careful for planning related to stress and all ....

remember one thing that every applicant of that exam is same like you...

if you manage your stress levels there and apply your full knowledge ..then you can get good marks

Failure in managing stress only lead me to fail in the exam ..

i got just 180 of 300

which are not enough for me ..because of heavy competition..

you should at least score 260 to 280 to fight for a good seat..

its very easy to score if you plan correctly from at least now..

according to me the minimum marks that is required to clear bits is around 350 + marks in the online exam to get the direct seat in the first round of counseling of the pilani campus...

so prepare well for the exam ....

No.....You can't get admitted if u r unable to score atleast 80% PCM...as it the minimum eligibility criteria.....even if you get 450 out 450 plus the bonus 12 questions also correct

Dear Sheela,

You have not mentioned the branch you prefer to join in BITS.

However, judging by the cut off list last year, the only course you might get in BITS is B.Pharma(Hons) in the Pilani campus(last year cut off was exactly 227) or the same course in BITS Hyderabad(last year cut off was 211).
If you are interested in this course, i would recommend BITS university to you as it is one of the finest in our country.

Hello friend,

I would like to tell you that your score is not a good score to secure admission in BITS pilani at its branches at Pilani,Goa,Hyderabad.

With your BITSAT score, you can only expect B.Pharma course in BITS Hyderabad or Pilani.

The cut off last year for all other courses was much greater than 227 so i am sorry to inform you that you might not get any other course in BITS.

If you would like to do P.Pharma, then it is the ideal choice for you to pursue it from BITS. However, if you do not wish to do B.Pharma and would like to pursue a core course, i suggest you consider other good private universities such as VIT,SRM,Manipal amongst all others.

many of u might not be knowing but the cutoff after 3rd iteration(counselling) goes as low as 180......so its wrong to say dat ppl wid 227 marks will only get b.pharm......

sir..if have minimum percentage around 89-90% and we just scored around 140 marks in BITS PILANI EXAMINATION can we get seat there...??

the cutoff marks depend on bits campus.
for pilani the cutoff will be around 360.
for goa,hyd cutoff will be around 330 and 300 respectively
