Hello friend, The IAS entrance exam, known as civil service exam comprise of two stages of written exam, one of which has already been conducted and the second stage, known as the main exam will be conducted in the month of October 2011. Therefore, if you want to write the exam, you will have to wait for the notification of civil service exam 2012 which will be published by the end of this year. To be eligible, you must be a graduate and within the age limit of 21-30 years. The civil service exam comprise of civil service aptitude test main exam interview To become an IAS officer, you must qualify all three stages and score excellent marks. Re: When is the IAS entrance exam? IAS exam consists of three phases. 1st phase i.e preliminary exam was done 12th June 2011. The candidates who qualify 1st phase,will enter to 2nd phase. 2nd Phase i.e Main exam is going to held on 29th October 2011. The candidate who qualify 2nd phase,he/she will be called for interview. I will help you out by providing the necessary details about it so that you will be ignited with the correct info and the path to reach your goal. Actually you have to know some facts about IAS IAS is a Service not an examination IAS is abbreviated as Indian Administrative service. Like wise we will have nearly 24+ services. for which we will have a common entrance examination. That common Entrance examination is called as Civil service examination. This civil service examination is conducted by UPSC(Union Public Service Commission). This exam gets a Notification once in a year. The notification will be released in the month of November or December sometimes it may be in January also there will be no constant date for this it depends on the governing bodies decision i.e., UPSC They decide the dates of the examination and the all the important dates will be notified in that notification only so the thing what you have to do is wait for the next notification if you have your eligibility for this examination. The required eligibility criteria for this examination is ->you should have 21 years of age ->you should bagged up a degree certificate. This examination has three level pattern. ->Level 1 - CSAT(Civil Service Aptitude Test) ->Level 2 - Mains ->Level 3 - Interview round. You have to clear all the examination in order to get a job as IAS or any other service based upon your rank only you will get the service.
