GATE : Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering GATE is the All India entrance exam which is conducted by the IIT's and the IIM's in order to select candidates for the Master's Programs in IIT's, NIT's and all other colleges across India ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA FOR GATE :: 1. A candidate must be a graduate in B.E/B.Tech/B.Architecture from a recognized university or college. 2. A candidate should have secured a minimum 60% aggregate or CGPA (whichever is valid) for the GEN, and 55% for the OBC/SC/ST applicants. 3. There is as such no limit to the no. of attempts in the GATE exam. 4. Pre-final year students are not eligible to write the GATE exam, however the final year students can apply for the same. So yeah sure you can appear for the GATE exam any no. of times. Important Dates for the GATE 2012 :: 1. Sale of the application forms - 12th September 2011 2. Last date for the submission (online application) - 17 October 2011 3. GATE online examination - 29 January 2012. 4. GATE offline examination - 12 February 2012. 5. Re: Age-limit to appear for GATE entrance exam? To be eligible to sit for the GATE exam you should fulfill the following criteria's : 1. You should be a graduate in B.E or B.Tech in any discipline. 2. Your minimum age should be 21 years. 3. Final year students can also apply. 4. These is no upper age limit for the GATE exam. Therefore you need not worry. Prepare well, and all the best. |
