The only difference is that the computer branch is the core branch of the IT. So more software and hardware knowledge is given to the candidate of computer field in comparison of the IT field candidate. So from computer and IT branch of engineering selecting computer branch is the best option for you. The job opportunity in both of the fields are also similar. A candidate of the computer and IT field can apply for many jobs liks BSNL JTO INDIAN ARMY, NAVY and AIR FORCE |

The main diffrence is in computer science you have knowledge about software as well as hardware.So its very good for future preference having knowledge about both of foeld. In IT engineering you can get knowlege only about software. So if you have interest in software then you can choose IT branch and if you are interest in both software as well hardware then you can choose computer branch. Both branches having so much scope and requirment so go for the one. All the best. |

Which field is more favoured by companies? dear friend, The basic difference between computer science and IT is a student of computer science will get a job of SOFTWARE DEVELOPER after completion of graduation , and a student of IT will get a job of DATE ENCRYPTION , CODING, DATA TRANSMISSION etc.. Both the streams are quit equivalent.. though I will suggest you to go for Computer science.. because it is the core of IT.... All the best.. |

Both course students are eligible for Software companies. One of the main point is here,that is computer branch is the core branch of Information Technology(IT) But in computer branch it deals very depth in computers. IT deals and improve Innovative thinking of Student. Computer Engineering deals with so much percent of Soft ware design etc. finally my report is both are same do not think more about it. and companies gives equal importance to both courses.
