Re: Maximum age limit for Union Public Services Exams(IAS, IES)?  There are lot of civil service examinations , which are conducted by the UNION PUBLIC SERVICE COMMISSION (UPSC) every year. Some of them are - IAS (INDIAN ADMINISTRATIVE SERVICE) IPS (INDIAN POLICE SERVICE) IES (INDIAN ENGINEERING SERVICE) IFS (INDIAN FOREIGN SERVICE )etc etc.... All of them have minimum educational qualification required is a graduation degree in any stream except IES. Although IES is engineering exam, so, one must have B.TECH\B.E. degree in courses like CIVIL,MECH.,ELECTRONICS ,ECE. [COLOR="Navy"]The age limit required for appear in these exams, The age limit required for this examination is 21-30 years for general candidates,.There are 3 & 5 years of the age limit relaxation are applicable for the OBC & SC\ST candidates respectively.. i.e. 21-33 years for the OBC candidates, 21-35 years for the SC\ST candidates...[/COLOR] No. of attempts- 4 for the general candidates, 7 for the OBC candidates no such restrictions for ther SC\ST candidates... These examinations (IAS,IPS,IES,IFS,IRS) are conducted by UNION PUBLIC SERVICE COMMISSION [UPSC]. for appear in all theses exams you must have graduation degree from a recognized college.' For civil service examinations like IAS[INDIAN ADMINISTRATIVE SERVICE], IPS[INDIAN POLICE SERVICE],IFS[INDIAN FOREIGN SERVICE] etc,.you just need the graduation degree in any stream from a recognized college,. but for the IES [INDIAN ENGINEERING SERVICE], you must have engineering degree in any of these streams that I have mention here- 1.CIVIL ENGINEERING 2.MECHANICAL ENGINEERING 3.ELECTRICAL & COMMUNICATION ENGINEERING 4.ELECTRONICS ENGINEERING. The age limit for this examinations is 21-30 years,. there are 5 & 3 years of age relaxations are applicable for the SC\ST & OBC candidates respectively. i.e. 21-33 years for the OBC candidates, 21-35 years for the SC\ST candidates. No . of attempts- four for the GENERAL candidates, seven for the OBC[non-creamy layer] no such restriction for the SC\ST candidates. Thank you!! ~gamble~ |

Re: Maximum age limit for Union Public Services Exams(IAS, IES)? the elegibility criteria of both the examination are almost similar but there is an basic defference between them: IAS :you should be an graduate in any subject from an recognized college in the country and your age should be above 21 years and below 30 years to be eligible for the examination ,there is an age relaxation for students from the sc/st category in the upper age limit . IES:you should be an graduate engineer from any recognised institute in the country and also your minimum gae should be 21 years and the upper age should be less than 30 years for an general category students with relaxation for the reservation students , i amm attaching the brochures of the both the examinations from there you could get the complete details of both the exams |

Age Limit for UPSC Examination :- The age must be between 21 to 30 years at the time of appearing of this examination. The age relaxation is also applicable for the candidates belong to reservation category. Age Relaxation for the Reservation category candidates.
