u should have a perfect eye-sight of 6/6 and u shouldn't be colorblind either..because even if u have a perfect eye sight but u are colorblind..u will get rejected.. hope this helps..

Re: Eyesight requirement in medical fitness test to join Merchant Navy? Dear friend, Your eyesight should be perfect that is 6/6, otherwise you can have surgery to gain that eyesight, name of the surgery is LASIK. |

You can join merchant navy after taking suitable treatment so that this problem of yours is soughted out. You need a medical fitness certificate from DGS(Director General Shipping) approved doctors. And these are private doctors. |

Re: Eyesight requirement in medical fitness test to join Merchant Navy? For joining the shipping field it is must to be physically fit. You will need to clear the fitness test. Eyesight is also a part of it. You need to have a clear vision of 6/6. If any candidate doesnot clear this test then they will not be allowed to join. |
