Sir I have to apply for Electro Technical Officer .My eye sight is perfect but have little difficulty in recognizing different shades in few color, so does it so important for the job title to be color blind free? What i was informed that for Deck engineer it is very important. I mean if i give a color blind test i will get 50% pass for sure with perfect eye sight. Should i apply for the post? Please guide me sir. |

Re: Test for colour blindness in merchant navy? Dear  Of course there is a test for colour blindness in Merchant Navy..... Once you clear that test, you are applicable for the Navy.... Yes there is colour blindess test in the merchant navy.They will show you a diary in which numerical digits will be written in some colour and it will displayed on other colour strip.You have to identify the numerical digit. The number written in the file to be downloded is 25,If you are able to read this then you are not colour blind. |

Re: Test for colour blindness in merchant navy? Yes you will have to face the Medical Fitness test....It is considered one of the important test in the defense related jobs.... And you must have 6/6 eyesight in your both the eyes...and you must have physically fit.All the best.... |

Re: Test for colour blindness in merchant navy? in merchant navy medical test eye site and colorblindness are the two major factor.... even if there is a point defect in your eye sight then you will be rejected....same is the colorblindness test......it is for those candidates who have cleared the eye sight teat..... they will be showing you different colors on a screen and you have to very quickly answer for the color you saw.............. if there is a small defect then they give advise for laser operation....and then you will be eligible for it...... best of luck |
