additional subjects will help you for a good job.If you want to do any course related to electronics and communication then VLSI and EMBEDDED SYSTEM are good options for you.These are the best subjects for ECE students. You can also do any course related to computer field.So its help you in your future.The computer courses which helps you in future are C C++ JAVA .NET These are some computer programming languages which is good for your profile.So be focused with your field and you can do any computer course along this. Re: Additional courses along with engineering degree You can do some courses besides the b.tech. Java is a good language, but it comes in 6th sem in b.tech so you can go for it as the additional work, but you must have some knowledge of c and c++. You can go for the Embedded system and the VLSI in together with the b.tech. best of luck. |

If you want to have a career in Software field, you can choose courses like Java, .NET, C# etc. If you are interested, you can also join the course on embedded systems or on VLSI (Very Large Scale Integration). Candidates completed or undergoing final year of BE or equivalent are eligible for these courses. |

Re: Additional courses along with engineering degree dear friend, no, you can't do courses in VLSI,embedded system at the diploma lebel.at diploma label you can't do degree in VLSI,embedded system etc.degree and diploma is two different things. you have to do B.tech in your same branch.you have to take admission in any engineering college under lateral entry scheme directly in the 2nd year. for this you have to appear for JEELAT exam conducted by the every state's exam authority for admission in engineering college. good luck. |

Re: Additional courses along with engineering degree HI! Being a diploma student you can get admission in the Btech degree course in the relevant stream through lateral entry scheme. But all colleges do not admit diploma students & sometimes entrance exam is held for selecting students through lateral entry scheme. There is no need to do any additional course but if you wish you specialise in a particular area related to your discipline like VLSI, embeded system networking etc. |

Re: Additional courses along with engineering degree for your engineering degree you should be appear in a exam on state base. in your state there will be a exam for lateral entry by which you can admit directly into 2nd year b.tech. but if you want you may do additional courses like vlsi embedded, plc, microcontroller etc. it will help to do job in company and also will help at the time of study. |

Already you are completing your Diploma course so you dont have any problem to pick the right option. You can opt for VLSI, embedded system, networking, etc. You have the option to do B.Tech, so you can try for that one also. Choice is yours. All the best! |

Hold on with DIPLOMA. If really interested go for JAVA Ms. Hemlata Patode, In your case, there is no necessity of additional courses being in Diploma 3rd year as you are planning to continue your education to B.Tech. If you wouldn't have been going for B.Tech further, then I would have suggested you to do Special course in Embedded Systems. But as of now, Keep a good track of your subjects. Thats sufficient. If you find ample spare time beyond diploma classes, then go to the tutorials for "core JAVA". It will be very helpful in your career as a ECE Engineer . Regards, MASK |

Re: Additional courses along with engineering degree hi friend You have not told about your locality otherwise i would tell you about the local diploma level exam for admission in engineering. Like in the case of haryana it is LEET means lateral entry entrance test. You choose such type of entrance exams to get in engineering degree. There is no need to do additional courses. It is good that you are interested in core subject at this early stage, do follow them. |
