IAS (Indian Administrative Services) is basically for those who are firmly determined for dedication of themselves towards the own country. If you are so interested for IAS,after being Engineers, Doctors, or Ph.d you can sit IAS exam conducted by UPSC. Application forms will come out in the month of January. According to the new exam pattern of the IAS exam 1) General-Studies paper which carries 150 marks 2) Optional paper which carries 150 marks. Eligibility Criteria :- 1.Educational Qualification:To appear in IAS exam you should have a Graduation degree in any stream from a recognize University. If you are in final year you can also eligible to apply for the examination. 2.Age:The age must be between 21 to 30 years at the time of appearing of this examination. The age relaxation is also applicable for the candidates belong to reservation category. No.Of Attemptes: General Candidates - 4 Attempts OBC Candidates - 7 Attempts SC/ST Candidates - No Limits. UPSC conducts the exam for IAS every year for which the eligibility criteria is; qualification - a candidate should be graduate from any recognized university -a candidate as an appearing can also apply for the exam age limit -a candidate's age should be between 21-30 for general -for OBC upper age limit is 33 years -for SC/ST candidate upper age limit is 35 years number of attempts -for general-4 attempts -for OBC- 7 attempts -for SC/ST- no limits for further details you can visit the link www.upsc.gov.in |

Re: Can I apply for IAS after securing 47% in B.A with economics? sorry you are not eligible to apply for the IAS exam. these all exams are conducted by the upsc every year and the minimum marks required is 60% without any back log. but you have very less marks so you are not eligible. |

There is no restriction regarding the stream and also the percentage of marks you have scored in the bachelors degree examination. As per the union public service commission, a graduate in any discipline may appear for the exam, provided she/he is within the age limit. The eligible age is between 21-30 years. However, the maximum age limit is relaxed upto 3 years for OBC and 5 years for SC/ST candidate. |

HI DEAR, Yes ; you are eligible for IAS entrance exam if your doubt is that the low scoring guy like you are not eligible for such tough competitions. Civil Service Entrance exam is the exam which is conducted for aspirants who want to become IAS officers,IPS officers, IFS officers etc., etc., This exam is conducted by UPSC . This UPSC is a government body which recruits the right personnel into right positions with their experienced board members. The eligibility to right this examination are for only Indian youth. who completed their 21 years of age and who also completed their degree from a good Recognized Indian University are eligible to apply there is no bar regarding the stream of the degree or the percentage obtained in the degree. so you are eligible with low percentages also. there is no history that only toppers only get selected for the top most jobs. it is not the fact. Only the candidates who has intellectual,problem solving,logical,mathematical brain can make their place in the selections. because UPSC don't need the recorded percentages they need the active indian youth to develop the nation. For SC/ST the upper age relaxation is 5 years and for OBC the upper age relaxation is 3 years. As you have complete your BA course, then you are eligible for IAS exam.. Percentage of marks is not necessary.. So, go for it. All the best. |
