Educational qualification:- Candidate should be complete bachelor's degree in any of the following stream from a recognised university. 1. Civil engineering, 2. Electrical engineering, 3. Electronics and Telecommunications engineering, 4. Mechanical engineering. Final year exams appearing candidates are also eligible. Nationality:- The candidate should be a citizen of india. Age criteria:- The candidate age limits are 21 years to 30 years, 3 years upper age relaxation for OBC candidates, 5 years upper age relaxation for SC/ST candidates. The selection procedure may takes 3 steps to complete selection. Selection steps:- Preliminary exam, Main exam, Personal interview. Re: How many times can I appear IES exam? Age Eligibility: You need to be between 21 years to 30 years on the 1st August, 2011. Age relaxations exist as per Govt. rules. Academic Eligibility: You must be a graduate in Engineering from a recognized university. Even Final year students can also appear in IES exam, provided he/she can provide the proof of passing the exam when IES exam (Written) result comes out, which is around December 2011. To appear for IES exam,you should have completed or in final year of B-Tech/B.E course with any one branch mentioned below >>Mechanical Engineering >>Electrical Engineering >>Electronic Engineering >>Civil Engineering And your age should be between 21 to 30 year.You can attempt as many years you eligible with age criteria. Re: How many times can I appear IES exam? Sir,Well,IES exam mainly focuses on fourcategories: 1.civil 2.mechanical 3.electrical 4.electronics and telecommunication. First you have to be in one of these branch from any recognized university and must have passed the degree course having the proof of passing out. You can try for more than 2 or 3 attempts but the minimum age qualification is 21 to 30 years as on august of the year.Thenotification usually comes in januaryand february of the year. |

You not mention then branch name 1.Educational Qualification b.tech any one of the following branch : Electrical Engineering. Electronics & Communication Engineering. Civil Engineering. Mechanical Engineering. 2. Age Limit = The age must be between 21 to 30 years at the time of appearing of this examination. The age relaxation is also applicable for the candidates belong to reservation category. Computer Science and Information Technology branch are not eligible for the IES examination. Well friends, IES exams having four Categories means 4 types of people can write the exam One is Civil Engineering,Mechanical Engineering,Electrical Engineering and Electronics & Tele Communication Engineering Yes Attempts for IES It has been seen that only 4 attempts are permissible for Gen Category. & It is relaxed for OBC's and SC/ST i.e for OBC's 7 attempts and For SC/ST there will 9 attempts. Only candidates from the above stream can apply for the Combined Engineering services exam. You can go through the following link which will be helpful for you http://www.upsc.gov.in www.upscexam.com/upsc_examinations/ In the above link you can get all the details like syllabus,notifications,eligibility criteria and other such details. Well the number of attempts varies category wise. For GEN category candidates there are 4 attempts. For OBC category candidates there are 7 attempts. For SC/ST category candidates there are 9 attempts I hope the number of attempts made for Indian Economical Services(IES) is similar to that of Combined Engineering services exam. |

Re: How many times can I appear IES exam? It is wiser to be mentally ready for several attempts as cracking the Civil Services Exams is a tough nut to crack the first time around... A maximum of 4 attempts is permitted to every candidate and 7 to those belonging to Other Backward Classes. There is no restriction on the number of attempts in the case of SC/ST candidates. All this provided if you are still under the age limit. |
