Re: I am in 11th with Biology Subject : How to become a scientist? Sir ...I have passed my 12th this year with bad marks of 68% due to some reasons but I got 95% marks in 10th. I want to be a biologist what to do next now. My 12th marks should not be a reason to your answer. I think I should qualify aipmt first for mbbs and then what would be the next steps for becoming a biologist??? I have good skills...Please suggest me ! |

Re: I am in 11th with Biology Subject : How to become a scientist? you have to study your subject with more care. as you mention biology as your subject then i think you want to be scientist in biology field and also medical field. clear basic knowledge of biology. always think in deep for each topic. after 12 you have to find out one way from biology. because then biology is divided into some other paper like micro biology, physiology, botany, zoology etc. also after 12 you may go for medical study. |

Re: I am in 11th with Biology Subject : How to become a scientist? i think in biology itself they are more opportunity in science field. . you should take any science subject like your biology, micro-biology anything you take. . after that you should apply NET, SLEET,GATE exams and clear it defiantly you got JRF in any research center. . . . Re: I am in 11th with Biology Subject : How to become a scientist? you have to perform well in AIPMT or AIIMS exam.you can also do MA or MD in physiology,biochemistry.after doing this take a course in health management. after that you can join Indian Institute of Health Management and Research in Delhi,jaipur & Bangalore as trainee scientist. firt they will train you & then they sign a bond with you of at least three years.if they impressed with you then you will get full time permanent job |

Re: I am in 11th with Biology Subject : How to become a scientist? hi friend, it is a good option that you but it is a little bit tough to achieve because the qualities you should posses that you should do graduare degree,master degree,m-phil to go to in to the research field and you should have good academic skills and it is neccesary to do education in good institution so that you can achieve great experience and great knowledge.remember that you should have lab experience despite of this you cannot do anything.you should have clear why it is so happened on earth is that you should have clear explanation with you. |

I think you want to become a scientist in Biology field since you have specified this subject. All you have to do is you'll have to take Biology in your 12th standard also, then you will have to do your Graduation in the same subject followed by Post graduation in that respective subject.... First select the subject that you want to take up in biology (like botany for study of flora,zoology for study of fauna, etc) ones you have done your Post-graduation (i.e, your Masters) you can do your P.hd. in that subject...(that is basically a research..) Then you can work for a research institute like how I am working.. I did my Graduation in Physics, and Masters in Electronics and now i am working for N.I.O, Goa. One more point you will have to note down is that you will have to clear UGC NET exam to get a permanent post in research. This exam is held every year in June and December. Ones you clear this exam you can join any research institute like N.I.O., Bhabha Atomic centre,etc. as a Junior Research fellow for a few years and then start getting promoted to a technical assistant and then a scientist. As for now all you have to do is study with full concentration. All the best for your future. |

So, in order to become a scientist you must obtain a Phd degree in the relevant discipline. Since you are in class 11 now, first pass the 12th board exam. Then do graduation preferably a honours course in biology or other related discipline. On passing graduation you need to do post graduation & after post graduation you need to do Phd. After completing your Phd you can join any government department or organisation. |

Its sound intresting that you are willing to become a scientist but the goal is very difficul to achieve, but if you are really concern then you will definetly achieve it. First af all you will need to get master degree in biolog, better to get honours degree after that you will need to get Master Degree in the same field but remember it you should have a good academic performence throughout the year and must complete graduation and post graduation with good marks. To get master degree you can also join some prestigious universities or institution. To get in the research field IIT'ies are better choice. After getting master degree you need to further apply for higher educational degree i.e PHd's which is well known as Doctrate degree, in this you can one of the subject of biology which should be strictly of your intrest. If you further perform exceptionally good then you would be invited by any of the government/private research institution to join them. Please note that the process is too long and it requires atleast 25 year of age and good performance is must. Now a days most of the students wants to get a job oriented course, a few of them wants it to do more. Wishing best of your future. Good luck |

As you are just in 11th, its the right time for you to build good foundation for your ambition to become a scientist. Science requires dedicated attention, the capacity to concentrate despite the surroundings and the ability to process thoughts and experiences quickly. 4.It also requires the ability to work independently without guidance often in isolated surroundings. 5. Choose a specialty that you like most, chemistry and physics and mathematics. in these subjects you have a broad scope for the research and at the same time astronomy and biology are also available. 6.Get a bachelors degree and masters degree in your chosen field. This is the minimum requirement for the employment in research facilities. 7. Re: I am in 11th with Biology Subject : How to become a scientist? to become a scientist you frst have to do your graduation and then your masters and then can apply as a PhD student in various research instiitutes in india or abroad some best research institutes in india are IISc ,banglore JNCASR ,banglore NCBS .banglore all IITs and after your PhD you can either join industries or you can continue you work as a post doc in lab ..and after some 3-4 years of your work yo can even establish your own lab that will depend how many papers you have in your name |

HI dear,i am NItin and i like to inform that there is no specific way like study to be scientist.But if you wanna be scientist than you have pik-up one your intersted subject in which you are so much intersted and also you have knowledge of yhat subject.after that you to just start on mastering on any perticular topic if you choose new topic than its best.but one thing is that you have to work in that subject continiously and don't be divert during your this perod...make one note if choose professinal career than itis hard to be scientist...scientist always work on subject untill they will get mastering in that subject...i like to suggest you to read following books.. 1)wings of fire 2)the life of scientist 3)albert eiesten |

You may go for MS or MD in Physiology, Biochemistry or Pharmacology. After doing so, take a course in health management like PGDHHM from IGNOU (ignou.ac.in). Later, you can be associated with the WHO or UNICEF's R&D division abroad, or you can join IIHMR (Indian Institute of Health Management and Research) in Delhi, Bangalore, Kolkata or Jaipur (www.iihmr.org) as trainee scientist.
