Re: Can I apply for CDS Exam being a candidate of 1st semester of BE? To appear in the CDS examination the minimum qualification needed is that the candidate should has passed Graduation and the age of the candidate should be less then 24 years. As you are in the first semester of BE you are not eligible to apply for the CDSE examination.However after passing graduation you will become eligible to apply for the CDS examination. Now if you are with in 16.5 years to 19 years you can apply for the NDA examination. |

Eligibility for CDS The CDS (Combined Defence Service) Exam is conducted twice every year by the UPSC in the months of February and September.. The next CDS Exam is going to be conducted on 12th February,2012.. The last date for applying for the exam was 28th November,2011 Hence you can apply for the CDS 2 2012 Exam which is going to be conducted on 19th September,2012 The forms for this exam shall be available from 2nd June,2012 and the last date for submission of the completed application forms is 2nd July,2012 In order to appear for the CDS exam..a candidate must fulfill the following minimum criterion :- 1) You should be a graduate or a final year graduation student from a recognized University.. 2) You should be within the following age limit for joining the respective academies For Naval Academy : 19-22 years For Air Force Academy : 19-23 years For Indian Military Academy : 19-24 years For Officer's Training Academy : 19-25 years The written exam shall test you in the following areas :- General Knowledge English Basic Maths The exam will be of 300 marks with each section carrying 100 marks each.. So, my friend it is too early for you to think about those exams.. For now just concentrate on study to secure a good aggregate.. All the best. |

No,according to the CDS exam norms 1st yr.Candidates are not eligible to appear in CDS.Here is the qualification to appear in CDS- >Applicant should be Graduate at the time of form submisson,in any stream from affiliated institute. >Candidates in final year are also eligible to appear in the exam. Since you are in first semester of your BE program, you are not yet eligible to apply for the combined defense service exam. To be eligible, you must have completed your BE program and be within the age limit which are as follows: For IMA, the age limit is between 19-24 years. For Indian Navy, the age limit is between 19-22 years. For Indian Air Force, the age limit is between 19-23 years. For OTA, the age limit is between 19-25 years. |

Your nationality should be an Indian. 3. Final year appearing students can apply. 4. Your age should be between 21-25 years. But since you are in your First semester of B.E, as of now, you are not eligible to apply for the CDS examination. All the best. Regards #RJ# |
