I have got good marks in my 12th in cbse computer science. I have a passion for travelling and writing. Do u think it would be a good idea for me to join a journalism course.? I want to know what exactly are these challenges that comes with the course? what are the most lucrative opportunities available in the field of journalism? Thanks a lot for your time!!

Journalism is concerned with collection and dissemination of news through the print media as well as the electronic media.

This involves various areas of works like :--
reporting,
writing,
editing,
photographing,
broadcasting or
cable casting news items.

journalism is classified into two on the basis of media-

(i) Print Journalism
(ii) Electronic (Audio/Visual) Journalism.


(i) Print Journalism:-

Print Journalism includes newspapers, magazines and journals.

In print journalism one can work as editors, reporters, columnists, correspondents etc.

Electronic journalism:--

Electronic journalism includes working for Radio, Television and the Web. In electronic journalism one can be a reporter, writer, editor, researcher, correspondent and anchor.

Journalism is a field that is worth working. It is one of the most prestigious careers one can get today. As one might be aware the tools of Communication and Technology are television, the printed media and radio. The internet is a more recent addition to this list. A lot of students are getting attracted to this field nowadays. This is mostly due to the fact that a career in journalism can be challenging as well as highly rewarding.

Many Indian colleges offer students with journalism course at the graduate and postgraduate levels. Certification courses are also available. These courses are available in English, Hindi and other Indian languages.

Journalism has become of the one most preferred career option for lots of individuals these days.Due to emergence of electronic and print media and growing population ,demand of journalists are increasing day by day.

The most important thing for becoming a journalist is that you should have good communication skills along with good behaviour and personality.Awareness and current affairs are main components of journalism.

This is mostly due to the fact that a career in journalism can be challenging as well as highly rewarding.

Students stand the chance of getting jobs with news channels such as NDTV, Discovery, BBC and the CNN and with leading newspapers such as The Times of India, the Indian Express and The Economic Times.

There are also chances that they might get paid internship in these organisations. The initial salary for trainees will be as much as Rs. 3,500-Rs. 5,000.

A reporter can expect around Rs. 6,500 - Rs.10, 500. Those who are employed at the post of editors will get approximately Rs. 7500 - Rs. 12 000.

Do ba jouranalism or mass communication.then y can become reporter ,journalist,editor of print and electronic media.these r high paying jobs.

Journalism course has great scope in the present scenario. The journalism and mass communication course are in high demand. The number of students attending the graduation level course related to mass communication and journalism are increasing. You can get jobs in various areas in channels which are national recognized and different newspapers or dailies etc. You can also work in areas of public relations and research institutes etc.
