The CSIR NET exam is basically for those who would like to go into the research field. GATE exam is basically those who are interested in going for Masters course. It is not necessary to appear for these exams. |

To pursue a PH.d you need to clear Masters. Since you have completed the same you are eligible. The CSIR NET exam is basically for those who would like to go into the research field.
