Hi dear, you did not actually mentioned the region where your writing this post from because it depend on that factor also some times the availability of books is not that good in some areas so as my suggestion its best to prefer the electronic material which can be downlaoaded from different links like www.onestopgate.com www.saakshieducation.com yeah definitely its ok to prepare on your own but you have to be very much determined and interested in your work Thanks |

I personally suggest you to join some coaching institute for scoring good rank in gate exam or to join correspondence course . best of luck |

The book which I would suggest is :- Vinay Kumar, Discrete Mathematics. I want to add one thing prepare yourself as per topic wise and get mastery of it, result will follow. For cracking mathematics in GATE (exam held every year to get entry into IITS, NITS and topmost engineering colleges for doing M.TECH degree), you should following books- 1. H.K.DAS 2. B.V.RAMANNA 3. B.S.GREWAL 4. T.M.H (TATA MAGREW HILL ) 5.ARIHANT PUBLICATION BOOK. EVERY year there are atleast 4 question in gate from mathematics section, its very scoring part. This year GATE exam has been over, it was on 13th feb 2011. |

As you know that the GATE is conducted by the IITs and the IISC Banglore, for admission in their post graduation course.
