I am a Engineering student and i have a interest in law. Can a non-law student be able to crack this exam?? How much time does it take to cover the whole syllabus of law for an Engineering student?

Yes, i think you can choose any subjects as your optional subjects,
but i will suggest you choose those subject in which you have more
command, for preperation and syllabus, then please visit this given
site of upsc. because all the information and detail of optional
subjects are availiable in this site.

Yes.you can select the any of your engineering subject for your IPS entrance exam.

dear friend is it only the syllabus of one of the the subject from the engineeering branch or the whole branch u r sugesting please tell unabihiosly....

you can select your graduation subject as your optional .if you feel difficult in doing that,you choose other optionals from the list.you can take general subjects like public administration,sociology,geography,history.

You can select only when you will be in the 7th semester of your engineering before that it is not possible to select any subject as option...

And now if you talk about the IPS exam then i do not think that you can choose any subject there are the name of the optional subject and then you will have to select accordingly...

there will be given a lots of option to you and you have to choose any one from them.select the appropriate one in which you have the interests and you want to study it further.

yes you can select any one of the engineering subject but it will be better if you select the subject from which you are graduating because it will be easier for you to score in it more marks.
you can follow books of pratiyogitha darpan they are really helpful

yes you can select any one subject of your engineering as optional subject but the subject must be in the list of ips exam. also choose that subject in which you think that you can score well.

You are not bound to choose subject according to your graduation. you can select any of the optional subject as per your convenience. But choose that subject in which you have highest interest.

Yes, you can select engineering subjects as optional in civil services exam. To know which engineering subjects you can choose as optional please visit the upsc official website: www.upsc.gov.in

For cracking upsc you can refer the books of R.S.Agarwal, upkar prakashan, arihant publication & unique publication.

but remember that you must select the subject from the list of subjects.
it is better to you that in which subject you have completed,that subject is better to you.because you have knowledge about that.

i think the branch from which you are doing engineering will contribute as one subject,you have to see the official website of upsc for more details of the subjects available ,

hi friend yes sure you can select any of the subject for your ips preparation its better if you start preparing from now on good luck....you can refer some history books and some general knowledge books..........you can refer from cisco publication and safari online books

for scoring good score in ips exam you have to be reading the news paper regularly.
you also have to read various text books like Indian history etc,
follow the books of career launcher
