Re: Can I get a government job after finishing B.Ed at the age of 34? Hi iam 29 year old. I have taken admission in B.ed on the basis if m.a .could you pls tell me that what is the age criteria fir completion of this course. And can I gate govt job also in teaching field. I have s.c quota. |

Re: Can I get a government job after finishing B.Ed at the age of 34? When applying for teachers job in central government or state government, there is hardly an need to worry about the age limit. There is no age criteria for the entrance exam which is important to appear to become school teacher. I am talking about Central Teachers Eligibility Test (CTET). This exam is conducted by the Central Board of Secondary Education of the behalf of Ministry of Human Resources and Development of the central government. The idea behind introducing this entrance exam was to improve the quality of teachers in the central government schools. This exam is also made mandatory for the state government schools as well. Therefore if you want to become school teacher in government school then Central Teachers Eligibility Test is important. Alternatively you can appear for the Teachers Eligibility Test of your respective state. Eligibility for CTET 1. The CTET test is only open for the Indian nationals. 2. Candidate must hold a valid Bachelor degree. 3. Minimum of 50 percent marks are mandatory in bachelor degree. 4. He/She should also have valid Bachelor of Education Degree. 5. There is no upper age limit to appear for this exam. 6. There is no limit on attempts as well. Please note that the criteria for CTET or the state TET is same. However there could be some changes in the age limit. Some states have 60 years as the maximum age limit to appear for the Teachers Eligibility Test. |

Yes, you can ,it depend on state policy i.e. in punjab the age to enter in teaching job is upto 37 year for general,52 years for sc/st category. other state has37 to 42 year according to my best knowledge. |

Re: Can I get a government job after finishing B.Ed at the age of 34? Dear friend, To get Government job age limit is 30, after that you can apply if you are SC/ST/OBC because there is 5 year relaxation for SC/ST and 3 year for OBC. |
