Hi friend,
Earlier all the banks in india used to have a seperate exam for recuirting
personnal as their staff. But now a common entrance exam was conducted fro
recuirting staff to 19 national banks in inDIA.
This exams is conducted separately for clerkical as well as po(probationary officer) cadre twice yearly for both the cadres.

IBPS clerkical cadre requires an eligibility of ssc/sslc.
IBPS po(probationary officer) requires an eligibility of degree.

DETAILS REGARDING IBPS ( Institute Of Banking Personnel Selection )

IBPS is an institute where it helps to recruit candidates for the institution who are in need of employee's or in the other sense resource to work.

-> Big companies, banks and other institution use to outsource their work of recruiting employee's to the external institutes to reduce the burden and also to get some good candidates for their work.

-> IBPS is one of the institution which takes up this task and carry out the process.

-> Clerical CWE ( Common Written Examination ) is one of the exam conducted by IBPS where they recruit candidates for various bank clerical jobs.

-> So instead of giving the test for each bank, CWE exam acts as the common exam for most of the banks and with the marks scored they will be moved to the further selection process respectively.

-> I have attached some of the information about on-going CWE exam in this post for your reference.. just check it out for more information..
