dude, B.TECH with computer science are permissible but if you have option to choose I T then you will step back
why ??
theres nothing wrong in joining IT as you graduate level
the main thing at the last is joining in a MNC company right!
and the mnc company will be of IT sector..
the only difference between it and comp is= hardwere knowledge is more in this field than IT fiels

Re: Is B.Tech (IT) advisable?

Dear Friend,
few years ago B.Tech (IT/CSE) had a great demand in S/W sector,
but as recession was started the S/W market is gradually lying down.

dont be upset if you will become a good S/W engineer with proper knowledge & experience you must get job in any small or MNCs,as according to experts the S/W market will stand up after 1 or 2 yr.
Good luck.

But now a days the market is booming, so it is advisable to take IT.
Because companies have started placement very well.

Re: Is B.Tech (IT) advisable?

dear friend, Nowadays, scope of B.Sc(IT) has diminished but isn't bad though........Computing professionals might find themselves in a variety of environments in academia, research, industry, government, private and business organizations -- analyzing problems for solutions, formulating and testing, using advanced communications or multi-media equipment, or working in teams for product development. Here's a short list of research and vocational areas in computing.

Re: Is B.Tech (IT) advisable?

it is a very tricky question but the answer lies in your abilities and intrest.
there are a few things that i will like to mention taking into account your intrest, market demand, global aspect, future in india and abroad.
now a days every one is adopting and tries to adopt IT field because scope is immense but it has a lot of sweet as well as bitter realities attached to it yu can obviously choose this field if you have tremendous zeal and enthusiasm to make your career in this field but what is the position of the market is an important factor and that is quite even and the global aspect is too much jam packed but the future only depends upon your intrest not only this i will like to add some others things which might help you in thinking better now recently Mr Obama has asked the IT companies to stop outsourcing which can adversely affect our market of IT but still we are more concerned about your intrest not what Obama says so do what you want to do and dont be a anvil of your directors who want to mould you according to them live your own dream . thanks i hope this information may help you for more details do write to me ..wish you sucess and great luck ....bye

Re: Is B.Tech (IT) advisable?

i dont suggest you to go for B.tech (IT) personally because of the following reasons:

1)it is highly affected by the recession.

2)i think it has one of the worst syllabus in engineering.

3)it is very inferior to its compared computer science(which people think)
but it is very different,so we should not confuse IT with CS.

and further i suggest you to go for evergreen branches like mechanical ,civil and electrical engineering.
