Re: Percentage required for mechanical engineering in 12th standard?

Dear pal,
Many aspirants wish to choose engineering but later due to the lack of marks they are not able to get it . So it is necessary for you to prepare well and get more marks.
Mechanical engineering is one of the top engineering course chosen by the aspirants. Many engineering college offers mechanical course. But you will be good at your skill only if you choose a good college.
For writing entrance exam like aieee , iit jee the minimum marks required is 50% with which the aspirant will be eligible to appear in the exam. But need to get more marks in the entrance exam in order to get good college. If the admission is through marks in the 12th standard then the aspirant need to get cut off more than 190 to enter into good college. The entrance exam as well as cut off marks is based on marks secured in physics, chemistry and mathematics . So study those subjects well. All the best

Re: Percentage required for mechanical engineering in 12th standard?

dear friend,
My friend to take admission in Mechanical engineering course you have to qualify in entrance exams like-
IIT-JEE
AIEEE
etc.

After qualifying in any of these exam you can take admission in BE/B.tech course in mechanical stream..

To appear in IIT-JEE exam one must have secure 60% aggregate in 12th in science stream. For SC/ST the percentage relaxation is 5%.

And to appear in AIEEE exam , one must have secure 50% aggregate in 12th in science field. For SC/ST the percentage relaxation is 5%.

So, try to secure a good percentage of marks in 12th to get eligible for appearing in any kind of exam.

All the best..

Re: Percentage required for mechanical engineering in 12th standard?

Mechanical Engineeing is an ever green course which is being offered by many of the colleges in India.

The minimum percentage required in 12th class in order to join this course depends upon the kind of entrance exam which you are going to appear for.

There will be some state level and national level entrance exams that give admission for Engineering course.

Here are some of the Entrance Exams for Engineering course
-AIEEE (All India Engineering Entrance Exam)
-Joint Entrance Exam (JEE)
-SLET
-NATA (National Aptitude Test in Architecture)
-State Engineering Exam etc.

I suggest you to prepare for AIEEE and crack this exam so that you are going to give admission for your chosen Mechanical Engineering course in reputed colleges for Engineering all over India.

In order to be eligible for this course, one should have completed 12th class or equivalent course with a minimum of 50% of marks.

-Relaxation is there in percentage of marks upto 10% for the candidates of OBC and SC/ST category.

One should be in the age group of 17-25 years in order to be eligible for this exam.

Relaxation is there in upper age limit upto 5 yeras for the candidates of SC/ST category.

Percentage Required To Pursue Mechanical Engineering

In order to pursue Mechanical Engineering as your graduation stream..your 12th percentage will have the least role to play..because your 12th percentage will only ensure that you are eligible for appearing in various entrance exams taking place all over India like :-

IIT JEE :- 60% aggregate in PCM
AIEEE :- 50% aggregate in PCM
BITSAT :- 80% aggregate in PCM

and there are many more entrance exams like KCET,KIITEE,VITEEE for which you can appear..

The percentage which you score in your 12th boards can only take you to the exam hall of the entrance exam..but what you have to write in the exam hall will depend on your preparations and hard work..

The syllabus for the engineering entrance exams is almost the same as your 11th and 12th syllabus of Physics,Chemistry and Maths..

Based on your All India Rank which you score in the entrance exams..you will get to select your desired college and stream..

The better the rank you score..the more the options you get in order to select your desired college..

For your preparations..if you are not taking any coaching..i would suggest you to first go through your NCERT books thoroughly and then go for the following books :-

M.L.Khanna for Maths
Concepts of Physics Volume-1 and 2
O.P.Tandon's Inorganic and Organic Chemsitry
P.Bahadur's Physical Chemistry

If you solve all the numerical problems from these books then you can be assured of a really good all India rank..

all the best..

With Warm Regards
Nitz

To get admission to Mechanical Engineering you must give entrance exams such as AIEEE,(If you are from Maharashtra state then you should give MHT-CET exam).
You have asked percentage so let me tell you that atleast one must have 50%
marks(PCM)group for being eligible for engineering admission.Marks also depend on caste,
whether you have any reservation etc

Re: Percentage required in mechanical engineering in 12th standard?

For apply in any engineering course you need at least 45% marks in your Pcm, this percentage was 50% but from this year government reduced it to 45%.

And for mechanical engineering you need to work hard in your entrance exams because this course is wanted by most of the students who give entrance exam, so there is a tough competition for this course.

And Please must give AIEEE exam because its ranking is count in private institutes also, like if you not get admission in any government college then you can take admission in private colleges without giving donation. So, Prepare yourself best as you can.

Best of luck!
