For civil service exam likes I.A.S , I.P.S, I.R.S, Graduate with any background is eligible. While for IES exam , only engineering graduates are allowed. The Minimum Educational qualification is Graduation in any stream from any recognized university. Age limit is 21 to 30years. Then you have to prepare for the selection process. It consists of three rounds.They are 1.prelims 2.Mains exam 3.Interview for further information and notifications www.upsc.gov.in prepare well all the best....... |

Civil service exam is conducted by UPSC every year once,to take qualified student into different government service post that are >>Indian Administrative Service >>Indian Police Service >>Indian Revenue Service ........ Eligibility criteria for Civil Service exam: You should have complete minimum graduation degree with any stream from a recognized university. And your age should be between 21 to 30 years. Your education qualification is sufficient,but your age should also be between as mentioned above,then you can appear for this year Civil Service exam. Civil Service exam consist of >>Preliminary Exam >>Main Exam Important dates for Civil service exam for this year: Preliminary Exam: Issuing of application form from 4th Feb 2012 to 5th May 2012. Exam will held on 20th May 2012. After clearing Preliminary exam,then you can appear for Main exam. Main exam will held on 15th Oct 2012. Re: Do Compute Science Engineer eligible for Civil Services Exam? Dear pal, the civil service exams are conducted by the union public service commission. The various civil services are indian administrative service, Indian police service. The eligibility for appearing in the exam includes bachelor degree from a recognised university. In addition to this the aspirant should have completed 21 year of age. The maximum age for applying for the exam is 30. The relaxation is as per the government norms 3 years for bc and mbc aspirants and 5 years for sc and st aspirants. The selection procedure involves aptitude test followed by main exam. The aptitude test is common for aspirant. The main exam consist of 9 optional paper. The aspirant can choose as per their wish. It would be better if you choose related to your degree. As you have completed degree from engineering you are eligible to appear for Indian engineering service too. But the thing is it is conducted under the following category namely civil engineering, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, electronics and instrumentation engineering. The syllabus will be based on above discipline and aspirant need to prepare accordingly. |

Because the eligibility list of civil service exam conducted by UPSC(union public service commission) says that, the candidates lying in the age limit between 21years and 30years with a graduation of any discipline are eligible to appear in this exam. So with computer science engineering as your graduation(If your from a recognized university) you are surely eligible for appearing in this exam. |

Civil Service Exam conducted by UPSC every year for various Civil Services in Govt. of India such as for IAS, IPS, IES, IFS, IRS etc. Any Indian national having a degree in any stream from a recognised University within the age group of 21 to 30 years can appear for Civil Service Exam. The Civil Service Exam selection procedure is through three phases:- Civil Service Aptitude Test (Preliminary exam) Main exam Personal Interview. Every year civil services examination is going to be conducted by UPSC (Union Public Service Commission). This will be the exam for the candidates to be placed in various civil services like -IAS (Indian Administrative Service) -IPS (Indian Police Service) -IRS (Indian Revenue Service) The selection procedure to be placed in these civil services is by -CSAT (Civil Services Aptitude Test) -Civil Services Main Examination -Interview. Here is the required eligibility criteria for this exam. Academic Qualification: -One should have completed Graduation with any of the stream from a recognized university. -Candidates who have appeared for fianl year exams of Graduation and waiting for the results can also apply for this exam. Age criteria : -One should be in the age group of 21-30 years to be eligible for this exam. -Relaxation is there in upper age limit upto 3 years for the candidates of OBC category. -Relaxation is there in upper age limit upto 5 years for the candidates of SC/ST category. I suggest you to choose the optional subjects in accordance with your CSE background and the subjects in which you are more interested. Have good preparation to this exam and crack the exam.
