National Eligiblity Test This examination was conducted by UGC .The NET Examination is conducted twice a year.The examination is generally done in the month of June and December every year. ELIGIBLITY Those students who have got master’s Degree with 55% from universities recognised by UGC you can apply for the examination Final year students are also take the exam. Age limit :: For Junior Research Fellowship - Your age should be not more than 28 years. A relaxation upto 5 years in upper age limit is provided to SC, ST and for OBC candidates. For Lectureship - There is no upper age limit for applying for lectureship. Which means that you can apply for the Lectureship jobs . Examination Pattern There will be total three papers. one paper is common for all students two papers will be done on subjects which you have chosen . Paper-I :: It is done to test the teaching/research aptitude in the students. Question asked will be based on :: Reasoning ability Comprehension Divergent thinking General awareness. Paper-II :: Objective types and on the optional subjects Paper-III :: Descriptive questions on the subjects chosen by the students . |

Those candidate have completed masters degree from recognized university are eligible for NET exam. For general and OBC candidate must be hold 55%above in masters degree. SC/ST candidate must be hold 50% above in masters degree. Part time course are not eligible for NET exam. For Junior research fellowship course your age must be in between 19 to 28 years. For lectureship ,There is no upper age limit but the Minimum age is 19 years. NET exam is conduct because of govt college lecturer and PHD entrance. UGC NET consists of three papers 1) General studies (50 objective questions) 2) Your optional paper (50 objective questions) 3) Your optional paper (Subjective questions) Second paper will check only after qualifying the first paper and third paper will checked after qualifying the second paper. |

Re: Can I apply for NET Exam being a candidate with an age of 43 years? dear friend, Eligibility for NET exam:- 1.Candidate must have complete the post graduation with 55% aggregate in any trade. 2.For lectureship course - no upper age limit. For Junior research fellowship course- upper age limit is 28 years for general category.. For SC/ST the upper age relaxation is 5 years. 3.Candidate must be a citizen of India. These are the eligibility criteria you have to fulfill. As you are 43 year old then you are not eligible for JRF course. All the best. |

Post Graduation in the subject from recognized university with at least 55%. you can apply for the NET EXAM which held twice a year . age limit- no age limit. |

Yes, you can apply for the NET exam even at the age of 43 years as there is no age limit for the Lecturer ship post.But for the JRF the upper age limit is 28 years so you are not eligible for it. The eligibility criteria for the lecturer ship is as under- 1. You must be a postgraduate with minimum 55% marks. 2. There is no upper age limit for the lecturer ship The examination is Conducted in June and December every year.You can fill the Form online http://www.ugcnetonline.in/ |

But you are Not eligible to apply for (JRF) Post because for this your age should not be more than 28 years and you have already crossed the age of 28 years. So please apply for Lectureship Post in NET Examination. If you have complete your Post graduate degree course then please wait for Next year June NET Examination, The Notification will be Published soon in the Month of April, So please wait for the Notification and then apply for NET Examination.
