Hi,

From what I have heard the GD & PI are not so important as your written marks are considered pivotal in selection.So dont worry abot the GD & PI.Besides if you can crack SAIL the you can crack any PSU (that is for sure).

One more thing do you know that SAIL is actually offering Rs 5000 less of basic pay during your joining as compared to other maharatna psus(ONGC, IOC, NTPC).This will land you at a initial loss of around Rs 10000 per month.Go inquire about it if you think am wrong.I know as my friends are working for SAIL and they are very displeased due to this.

From what I heard the GD & Pi are not much of an importance as the selection is mainly inclined towards the written marks you have secured.So dont worry abot the interview.If you can crack SAIl you can crack anu PSU(thats for sure).And sail's starting basic pay is also around Rs5000 less than oyher maharatna PSUs(ONGC,NTPC,IOC).That will land you at a initial loss of around 9000-10000.If you dont belive me ask someone who is in SAil managemnt cadre.I have friends there and they are very unpleased abot this.

three important thing to be noted and cultivated to get through GD and interview is as follows...CONFIDENCE.
GOOD COMMUNICATION.
RIGHT POSTURE.

Confidence in the sense being ready to face any question even if you don't know about the answer, it's like you should be ready for any situation or any topic and do not get nervous if you don't know the answer just try to give a brief answer with the content which you know...
Good Communication is very much needed in GD as well as in Interview, you must not stammer or pause while you are talking with the interviewee or the GD panel member. Frame the sentence in the way it makes sense only in the the firs line itself..Right posture in the sense having the sens of being in Group Discussion or in an Interview, there are several postures and etiquette which you have to followS.......

i quallified in written test of SAIL MT2012.and I am from electrical stream and soon will be GD/PI conducted.

please guide me abt interview. will be it Tech or HR. and wat is the scenario of interview. what are the basic questions and duration of PI.

You shoulld have a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering in any of the following disciplines:

i) Mechanical

iii) Metallurgy

TIPS TO PREPARE FOR GD AND INTERVIEW

The three important thing to be noted and cultivated to get through GD and interview is as follows...
