RTO examinations are generally conducted by public service commission of each state of India. Well as you have not mention which states you are from so its little difficult to tell you in the details. But I will still try to help you out by giving you the general idea about the exams .

The RTO examination is done for three post:-

1.Judicial service post
2.clerkship post
3.sub assistant engineer

The eligibility criteria for all the post is different.

Eligibility criteria:

For Judicial Service post

You should be Indian citizen
You should be between 23 year to 34 years.
You should have degree in law from recognized university
You should be able to read, write and speak particular state’s language.

For Clerkship Post

You should be a citizen of India.
You should have passed 10+2 from a recognized board .
You should be between 18 years to 37 year old.

For Sub Assistant Engineer

You should be an Indian citizen.
The interested students should have got a 4 year degree in engineering in any one of the following streams-

Civil
Mechanical
Electrical

You should be not more then 32 years .

Syllabus for RTO Exam:

The syllabus for the exam is different in different states .I have attached the syllabus of the MPSC RTO exam I hope its useful for you.

*Candidate pass graduation in any stream

*Age- 18 to 27 years

age relaxation for SC/ST candidate depends on government rules

*Candidate must be an Indian.

Eligibility criteria for RTO exam are as follows: -

1. Pass graduation / Bachelor’s degree in any subject or in any engineering stream or equivqlent from a recognised institute / university.

2. Age - 21 Years to 30 Years for General candidates, 21 Years to 33 Years for OBC candidates and 21 Years to 35 Years for SC / ST candidates.

3. Nationality - Indian

NOTE: - Final year appearing candidates can also apply for RTO exam.

The syllabus of RTO includes List Of Compulsory And Optional Subjects

Compulsory Subjects:

Yes you must work at workshop/garage for 1 yr span.it must be a garage having turn over 3 to 5 lacks.
