Yes, an Arts student can join Indian Army but only in the Indian Army as for Navy Or Air force one must be a 12th pass from the science stream. The Eligibility condition for the NDA exam for Army wing is as under- 1.Candidate has to complete the 12th in trade. 2.Age should be in between 16.5-19 years. 3.Candidate must be a citizen of India. 4.Candidate should be physically fit. 5.Candidate must be unmarried male. The eligibility criteria for appearing for NDA , that is your age should be between 16.5-19.5 years and also educational qualifications that is passing 10th with minimum 55%age, and for pursuing this field, be updated with new events happening in our politics, army, navy. Because the most paper contains general knowledge and current affairs only. No you are not eligible for appearing for NDA. |

The National Defence Academy (NDA) is a joint service academy of the Indian armed forces. The eligibility criteria for NDA is given below : 1. The candidate must have passed the 12th class examination with a minimum of 60% marks or any equivalent examination in aggregate with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics. 2. Re: Can I join NDA being an Arts student without having Mathematics? you should have passed Higher Secondary level(12th) examination from a recognized School or equivalent qualification,Final year of 12th examination may also eligible to apply for this examination.Eligibility for Navy and Air force :- you have to possess 12th examination with physics and mathematics from a recognized School or equivalent qualification and other stream you are not eligible to apply for Navy or Air force courses. Eligibility for Indian Army :- you have to possess 12th examination with any stream like Arts,commerce,Science from a recognized board or equivalent qualification.So,you can apply for this examination. |

Hi  NDA is the Entrance Exam which is organized and conducted by the UPSC (Union Public Service Commission) every year to recruit candidates for the various posts of the Indian Army, Air Force, and Navy. NDA stands for the National Defense Academy. Since you have studied your Higher Secondary in Arts stream, so you are not eligible for the Indian Air Force, and Naval streams. However you are surely fit to apply for the Indian Army. The Basic Eligibility Criteria's to apply for the Indian Army (NDA) are : 1. You should be a Unmarried Male Indian National. 2. Your age should be within 16.5 to 19 years as in the year of applying. 3. You should have passed your Class 12th from a recognized school or state board in India. 4. Physical fitness is also a must if you want to apply in the NDA. This year the NDA exam would be held on 15th April 2012 (Sunday). The Notification for this exam has been released on 31st December 2011 and so you can find it in the Employment News Paper of that week. The deadline to apply for the NDA 2012 is set on 30th January 2012. So please do the needful before this date, if you want to apply. NDA exam is conducted by UPSC. twice in a year they will conduct NDA exam. this exam is conducted to give admissions in Army , Navy and airforce wing. but to apply for Navy and Air force one sholud have done 12th with Maths and Physics. as you dont have maths as your subject in 12th you can apply only for Army wing. NDA examination is conducted by UPSC every year and any students who have completed their class 12th can apply for the exam. The examination is conducted twice a year and eligible students can appear for the exam as many times as they want. Generally NDA examination is conducted to select students in :: ARMY AIR FORCE NAVY There will be single papers and the eligibility criteria for the all fields in different . To apply for the ARMY you must have completed your class 12th in any streams .Since you have completed your class 12th in arts which means that you can apply for this post . To apply for AIR force and NAVY a students must have completed his class 12th with physics ,maths , chemistry as a compulsory subjects .Which means that you can not apply for this field . Your age should be between 16.5 to 19 years . A student can go into Air force/Indian Navy/Indian Army, if he qualifies in the NDA exam. Indian Navy and Air Force: A student should have physics and mathematics as a subject in 12th class for appearing in the above two. So, you can't go for these two as you have Arts stream. Indian Army: A student of any stream like science,commerce,arts is eligible for Indian Army. So, you can Join Indian Army. Age limit: the main thing which should also be keep in mind that your age should be in the criteria of 16.5-19 years. Thank you. |

NDA - NATIONAL DEFENCE ACADEMY exam conducted by UPSC twice every year as NDA-I and NDA-II for entry in to three wings of NDA i.e. Indian Army, Navy and Air Force. The eligible candidate must be an unmarried Indian male have either appeared final 12th exam or passed within the age group of 16.5 to 19 years of age to appear for NDA. The candidate having Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics in 12th are eligible for all three wings of NDA. The candidate from 12th from Arts or Commerce are only be eligible for Indian Army wing of NDA. The processfor NDA-I is now going on the last date of receipt of application is 30.01.2012 followed by exam on 15.04.2012. As you are an arts student then you only eligible for Indian Army... Eligibility for NDA exam:- For Army wing:- 1.Candidate has to complete the 12th in trade. 2.Age should be in between 16.5-19 years. 3.Candidate must be a citizen of India. 4.Candidate should be physically fit. 5.Candidate must be unmarried male.
