Which are the upcoming government exams? hello sir,iam currently doing 3rd year ece. . .i belong to o.c category. .i got 80% in 10th and 90% in 12th and now having 70% in university exams. .is there any public sector job available for me?is there any exam for me to write before i finish my engineering?can you please the job opportunities available. .for getting into a govt job is it necessary to appear in GATE exams? |

Dates of some of the upcoming government exams to be conducted by UPSC in which you can appear as per your choice are as follows; Special Class Railway Apprentice Exam: 29.1.2012 Combined Defense Service Exam: 12.2.2012 National Defense Academy Exam: 15.4.2012 Civil Service Exam: 20.5.2012 Engineering Services Exam: 15.6.2012 Indian Forest Service Exams: 14.7.2012 Regarding getting a job with Government of india first of all you have to clear the entrance exam which has questions generally from english language, maths, science, general knowledge, aptitude, current affairs, logical reasoning etc. Candidates clearing the entrance exams are shortlisted and called for group discussion and then they face personal interview. Successful candidates of these rounds get the job. Select the exam you wish to prepare for and then practice for it with several books which are available for the concerned exams or you can take some expert guidance from institution who prepare for competitive exams. |

Engineering graduates are eligible for various entrance exams conducted for the central government jobs. However they should stick to exams that are related to Engineering jobs. Therefore in my opinion you should apply for Indian Engineering Service or Public Sector Undertaking. Both are the best option for Engineering graduates and the good part is that Electronics and Communication Engineers are eligible for both the exams. Indian Engineering Service (IES) Lets first talk about IES. In my opinion you should first apply for the Indian Engineering Service and only if unable to make the cut you should apply for the Public Sector Undertaking. There is series of promotions in Indian Engineering Service which offers very reputed jobs in government sector. The jobs are given in various government departments that are dedicated for road, dams contruction to defence manufacturing. Eligibility 1. Only an Indian citizen can apply for IES. 2. Bachelor of Technology degree from a recognized college. 3. There is no minimum percentage criteria. 4. Candidate should be between 21 to 30 years. 5. Age limit is 33 years for OBC due to 3 years relaxation. 6. For SC/ST 5 years relaxation means age limit is 35 years. Public Sector Undertaking PSU companies are controlled by the government therefore you will have to go through written test procedure to apply for the job. However it is important to have GATE score since there are some PSU companies that do not conduct written test and instead as for GATE score. Eligibility 1. Bachelor degree in Engineering from recognized college. 2. Minimum of 60 percent marks in graduation. 3. A valid GATE score. 4. Must clear pending backlogs. 5. Minimum age to apply is 21 years. 6. Upper age limit is 30 years. 7. There is some relaxation in upper age limit for reserve category. Yes you can apply for the government jobs. the minimum requirement in most of the exams is 60%. but because you are an engineering graduate so if you want to work in your core field the best two options are 1. GATE 2. IES these days most of the PSU's are taking candidates by GATE exam so you can prepare for it and if you got good score then you may get a call from a PSU such as NTPC,BHEL,IOCL,DRDO etc directly for the interview. and you can also go for the m.tech after qualifying GATE exam in top institutes like IIT,NIT,IIIT etc. and you can also go for the IES as it is the one of the top engineering job in govt. sector. this exam will held in june most probably. |

Your marks are very good in graduation.you are eligible for all government jobs. There are various government companies for ECE student like NTPC,BHEL,DRDO,SAIL,HPCL you can apply for these companies. UPSC conducts various entrance exam for graduate students.UPSC has announsed calander of all exam of this year.you can choose jobs from this list.website of UPSC- http://www.upsc.gov.in There are various government jobs also in Railway you can apply for these exam. If you are intrested in Banking jobs then you can also apply for banks job.bank conducats entrance exam for Clerk and PO exam. |
