Re: Can I join open university at the age of 40? dear friend, See my friend you can a an university but not in regular way but in correspondence or distance education like this way. IGNOU is such kind of institutes where regular as well as non regular candidate s both get treatment. good luck. |

There is no maximum age limit for an individual to join an open university.But the minimum age is 16 years as before that a child is in a process of learning where a regular schooling is necessary for HIM.But after that HE is an adult & can learn through the process of Distance education. Open university is meant for those who are willing to learn something but due to some reasons they are unable to attend the regular classes.Through this education HE can earn His income too & continue HIS studies as well. There are many open universities in India as under- Indira Gandhi National Open University, IGNOU Karnataka State Open University K. K. Handique State University Kota Open University Madhya Pradesh Bhoj Open University Nalanda Open University Netaji Subhas Open University |

Re: Can I join open university at the age of 40? Hi Open University is the University which gives the free of education to every individual. So yes you can study anything from the Open University anytime as there are no age bars imposed in that. IGNOU - Indira Gandhi National Open University is the Largest University in India and it is also the Open University which has huge number of students graduating and post graduating every year. Now there are certain limitations that you have to keep in mind while you choose what you want to study. 1. If you are a Science student, then you can study any course related to the arts and commerce also, but not vice versa. 2. If you are not a graduate, you cannot study post graduate or research level programs. 3. You have to follow the courses regularly, or else you would not be given the degree. 4. You might also have to attend regular labs and other classes also. But yes, you can study at the age of 40 also. Many people do go for MBA courses late in their lives.
