Dear,you have no such restriction for applying in IES exams as you are in sc/st class so you are having this privellige but if you are under OBC category them no of atempts that you can make is only 7 wish you luck and all the very best for the exams hope you qualify it in the very 1st attempt. for more details do write to me. bye take car.the maximum attempt no. has been relaxed to 5 and for SC/ST/PD candidates there is no restriction on no. of attempts to pass the examination. So, choose your attempts wisely and appear only when you are fully prepared for the examination technically as well as mentally. Thanks, |

For candidates belonging to general category the number of permissible attempts is 4. And for SC/ST candidates there's no certain limit. As you are asking for OBC candidate the number of permissible attempts is 7. |

The number of attempts for the IES exam is depend on which category you belongs. GENERAL CATEGORY If a candidate is of general category student he/she can apply for the IES exam only 4 time. OBC CATEGORY If a candidate belongs to OBC category then the number of attempts are 7 times. SC/ST CATEGORY If a candidate belongs to SC/ST category he/she can attempt infinite number of times. As you are from OBC category so you can attempt 7 times for the IES exam. all the best!!!! |

Dear friend, The IES examination conducted every year by UPSC allows every candidate of GEN category to clear the examination in maximum 4 attempts. For OBC category the maximum attempt no. has been relaxed to 5 and for SC/ST/PD candidates there is no restriction on no. of attempts to pass the examination. So, choose your attempts wisely and appear only when you are fully prepared for the examination technically as well as mentally. Thank you.. |

Number of attempts that one can attempt for this exam are For general category - maximum of 4 time For OBC - maximum of 7 times For SC / St - no limit. IES exam consists of a total of 1200 marks selection process, which consists of a written test of 1000 marks and a 200 marks interview for those who are short listed. So, as you belong to the category of OBC, you can appear for a maximum of 7 times for this exam. |

Re: How many times can I attempt IES EXAM (OBC category) ? you can apply for the exam for any number of times till you are below the upper age limit Age Limit for IES 21-30 years as on 1.8.2010 i.e. he must have been born not earlier than 2nd August, 1980 and not later than 1st August, 1989 in case of the OBC candidates there is a relaxation of 3year in upper age. |
