Educational Qualifications :- You have to pass 12th with Science ( you mast have Mathematics) with minimum 60% marks Age Limits :- 16.5 to 19 years. Physical Standards:- Minimum height: 157 cm Minimum eye standard: 6/6 and worse 6/9(without glass) should not color bind Generally examination is held twice a year its may be June and December. examination which includes :- (i)Science (ii)Math (iii) General Knowledge (iv)English |

Re: Can I get into Indian Navy after passing Diploma? after 12th only can join in merchant navy by writing entrance exam. but now you have completed engineering. you have not specified which branch you have taken in engineering. marine engg students are eligible for merchant navy. so further details you search in mearchant navy website. |

Re: Can I get into Indian Navy after passing Diploma? hallo friend, After passing diploma course you want to get a job in Indian Navy.. Then you have to appear in NDA exam.. Which is conducted twice in every year by UPSC.. Through this exam you can apply for different sections in Indian defense.. Eligibility for NDA exam:---------------->> ##Candidate must have complete the 12th class in science field or its equivalent course from recognized central/state education board.. ##Candidate , who is appearing in the final year exam of diploma course can also apply for the exam. ##Age should be in between 16.5-19 years. ##Candidate must be a citizen of India. ##Candidate should be physically fit. These are the requirements you have to fulfill. As you have done diploma course then you are eligible for the exam.. All the best. |

A degree of any of the Universities incorporated by an Act of the Central or State Legislature in India or other educatsional institutions established by an Act of Parliament or declared to be a Deemed University under the UGC Act, 1956, or an equivalent qualification. Candidates who have appeared or intend to appear for the qualifying examination and are awaiting results are also eligible to appear for the Preliminary Examination. All such candidates who qualify to appear for the Civil Services Main Examination must produce proof of having passed the said examination along with their application for the Main Examination. |

Res/sir, I'm sandeep Baagla, I have been pass my mechanical engg.diploma with 71.34% marks in 2011 . sir, i'm interested in merchant navy, so plz tell me what 's the procedure to get the job under merchant navy.. I've aslo done NCC in 2008. and auto cadd. I'll wait ur reply.. |

Re: Can I get into Indian Navy after passing Diploma? After diploma you can join NAVY but you will be in sailor position that too by merchant navy. To join Indian navy you need to be at-least graduate .. So better to complete you graduation first... But you can join merchant navy .. To become a merchant navy officer, one needs to be atleast 10+2 or a diploma holder...but you must have scored more than 60% in PCM in 12th board...............so if you want to go for MERCHANT navy you can......... There will be 2 year course for Diploma Holders and successful completion you will be join merchant in either of departments
Age limit is depends on the basic qualification based on that you want to join merchant navy..

Re: Can I get into Indian Navy after passing Diploma? Indian Navy is one of the renowned as well as a respected jobs of the Government of India. Generally, the examination is held twice a year in the months of June and December every year by the Short Service Commission(SSC). Eligibility Criteria :- Nationality : Indian. Marital Status : Unmarried. Educational Qualifications : i)You should pass the 12th or equivalent with Science and Mathematics with 60% or above marks in aggregate and optional as Chemistry or Biology or Computer Science. ii)You should pass B.Sc in Physics, Mathematics or Electronics with minimum 60% marks. or iii)You should pass BE or B.Tech with minimum 65% marks in aggregate in any discipline from any institution recognized by AICTE. or iv)You should have M. Sc in Physics, Mathematics or Electronics with minimum 55% marks. Age Limits :19.5 to 25 years as the examination time. Physical Standards:- Height: Minimum 157 cm Eye standard: Without glasses better eye 6/6 and worse 6/9 Color perception: CP II The eligible candidates will be called up for Service Selection Board (SSB) based on their educational intelligence in graduation. |

If you want to work in the area of your specialisation then you need to complete your graduation. After that you will need to clear the entrance exam. Since you are a diploma holder you can join directly the second year of engineering. Also do start preparations for this exam when you are in the third year. |
